Lamborghini 350 GTV (1963)

Lamborghini 350 GT (1964)
The 350 GT was first unveiled at the 1964 Geneva motor show, showing off its new tamed engine, streamlined chassis, and more elegantly designed body. The new beast’s four-cam V12 engine was reduced from 360 horsepower to 270, at 6,500 rpm. Like the concept 350 GTV, the production version had four-wheel independent suspension and an aluminum body.

1966-1974 Lamborghini Miura
The first Miura models were known as the P400 (Posteriore 4 litri). They were powered by the same 4,0 liter V12 engine used in the 400 GT. The engine was mounted transversely and produced 350 hp.
Lamborghini Miura Jota (1970)
The engine’s output has been increased by 20 hp to 370 HP. The Miiura S could hit a top speed of 177 mph, being the fastest Lamborghini at the time.
1967 Lamborghini Marzal
The Marzal is powered by a transversely mounted 175 HP in-line six-cylinder which was essentially half of the Miura engine, the V-12 was cut in half lengthwise, and was mated to a standard five-speed transmission. The concept was built on a modified Miura chassis, extended by 120 mm in order to accommodate the extra two passengers.
Lamborghini Urraco (1972)
The Urraco was offered offered in three different configurations: P200, P250 and P300. The first one was powered by a 2,0 liter V8 engine that delivered 182 hp; the P250 used a 2,5 liter V8 engine with 220 and the P300 a 3,0 liter V8 engine with 250 hp. Depending on the specifications the top speed ranged between 220 and 250 km/h (136 to 155 mph).

The 5.0 litre V12 project was abandoned after the engine exploded during tests. Instead Lamborghini reverted to a more reliable 4.0 litre version based on the Miura power plant. Still with four camshafts and six horizontal two barrel carburettors, the V12 delivered 375 bhp at an incredibly high 8,000 rpm and 368 lb ft of torque at 5,500 rpm.
Lamborghini Silhouette (1976)
e 3-litre version, allowed a maximum speed of 260 km/h. And despite this, after two prototypes, only 53 Silhouettes were produced, the last one being used and tested as the Jalpa prototype.

A successor for the Silhouette sports car, the Jalpa used the same 3.0-Liter V8 engine (that was also used in the Urraco P300), but enlarged to a 75mm stroke resulting in a 3485 cc displacement. The engine delivered 255 bhp at 7000 rpm and 231 ft-lb torque at 3500 rpm. The sports car made the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 7,3 seconds and was capable of a top speed of 146 mph.

The next logical step of the Countach evolution consisted of stretching the V12 to a full five litres like had been planned more than a decade ago. In 1982 the LP 500S or 5000S as it became known in the USA was introduced. But despite the name the bigger engine only measured 4,754 cc. Still fed by six double carburettors, the V12 equally put out 375 bhp but this time at 7,000 rpm. Torque rose to 302 lb ft at 4,500 rpm. More grunt pushed the LP 500S over 164 mph and enabled a 0-60 mph sprint in 5.6 seconds. Some 321 cars were built between 1982 and 1985.

Known in its current form as the Diablo 6.0, the startling-looking two-seat coupe adopted a new 6.0-liter V12 engine in 2000, as well as a number of other improvements: a new air conditioning system, wider front and rear track dimensions, a redesigned exhaust system, a new front bumper, new lightweight magnesium alloy wheels, and wider front and rear fenders. The driver’s seat was moved toward the center for a better driving position, and gauges were redesigned

The decision had been made to do whatever was necessary to get the Diablo back to its peak and be able to fight off other supercar contenders. The solution came from boring out the V12 engine to 6.0-liters. This and a few smaller enhancements gave the car a mighty 550hp at 7,100rpm and 457 lb-ft of torque at 5,500rpm. Adding power and shaving weight is always a good combination so the weight savings from the use of carbon fiber and magnesium wheels in association with 550hp led this Lambo to 60mph in 3.4 seconds. The Diablo was sure to shine just fine until the new Murcielago was complete

Not one to leave well enough alone, DMC pumped up the supercar’s V12 engine from an output of 572 HP to 600 HP and 353 lb-ft of torque to 365 lb-ft. Not exactly the 670 HP and 490 lb-ft of torque found in the actual SuperVeloce model, but we’re sure customers will take what they can get. That added grunt was provided with an ECU remap and the DMC stainless sports rear silencer and sport metallic catalytic converter bring forth a sportier sound.
