This is Norway... Just before midnight. Three years ago somewhere in mid July, the best time for a visit.
But the best tidal area I have seen is Bay of Fundy. New Brunswick/Nova-Scotia - Canada. Stunning.
One of the world's highest tidal areas.

The relative distances and positions of the sun, moon and Earth all affect the size and magnitude of the tides. At a smaller scale, it is also influenced by the shape of the shoreline .
You can even measure the tides on a teacup - of course you need really sensitive instruments.
In fact, over a period of 24 hours the Gravity itself changes (g is not exactly a constant if you measure beyond 10 or more decimals) There are special gravimeters with remarkable accuracy that can detect these changes.
