Actually its illegal to cease a vehicle like that while on the road., unless the owner had been ditching the leasing company requests to hand over the vehicle for not payment of monthly finance.

They (the finance company) usually send three letters regarding this and failing to adhere to them only after they send a ceasing crew to take the vehicle away.

Also., from experience I know that ceasing crew MUST be accompanied by POLICE at all time when they take away a vehicle and they are usually VERY professional and respectful if you handle the situation correctly. I know about 5 to 6 time where such ceasing crew people actually even dropped the people at home before taking the vehicle and one time waited till one of my friends finished his shopping and dropped the guy at home with it as well.

So it's basically down to how you handle the situation
