There are two type of termite control chemicals. Cheapest is barrier type. It last for about 10 years and it will act as a barrier to termites to enter your house. its the most common one.
Second type is a chemical termites will take to their colony and destroy it. One such chemical is bayer agenda. there is another one with Hayles. It will protect for about 20 years.

Termite treatments are usually done for long term. Used oil does not have any insect repellent qualities and will not work at all.

Exterra is the best but same function is available wit Agenda ( Bayer Chemical) and its much cheaper.

They are much better than barrier treatment using Biflex or any such chemical
