Sri Lanka: Transworks Square Tower To Be 6th Tallest In South Asia



The constriction of Sri Lanka’s tallest building, the 92 story commercial and Residential Tower of ‘The One Transworks Square (Pvt) Ltd’ will commence next year and would be completed in three years, said Chief Executive Officer and Director of The One Transworks Square, Janaki Siriwardhana.

When completed it would be among the top 6 tallest buildings in South Asia.

She also said that The One Transworks Square (Pvt) Ltd’ also was placed among Asia’s finest real estate players at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards 2019 held in Bangkok when it secured the title, ‘Best Mixed Use Development (Asia).This was for ‘The One’ state of the art design and on time delivery for its towers. “The One project beat 8 other nominees from Australia, China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines and Myanmar.

The 80 storeyed 326 meter Ritz-Carlton Tower will house the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences and this tower has reached 42 floors which means 20% of work has been completed and would be opened in 2021 December. The second tower, which stands at 310 meters and covers 77 floors, will house the JW Marriott Hotel and Residences and 5% of this has been completed.The total investment for the project is US$ 560 million and around US$ 180 million has been invested so far

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday launched the Phase II of Bandaranaike International Airport Expansion project, the largest development project to be launched in the country this year.

Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka Akira Sugiyama attended the ground-breaking ceremony of the BIA Project Phase 2 and Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga and State Minister of Aviation and Export Zones Development D.V. Chanaka joined to grace the occasion.

The ground-breaking ceremony marked the construction of a new multi-level passenger terminal building, which will increase the passenger handling capacity of the BIA to approximately 15 million passengers per annum.

While using Japanese advanced technology and expertise, the building will provide barrier-free access and environmentally friendly features benevolent both to the people and the nature. The two-part project consisting of ‘Package A’ and ‘Package B’ is funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The Government of Japan has provided a loan of 74,397 million Yen (Rs. 131.5 billion) for the project.

Japan has extended assistance for the development of the BIA through expansion and refurbishment of facilities in different phases since 1981, according to the Embassy of Japan in Colombo.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Sugiyama stated that BIA project stands as an icon of the friendship between Japan and Sri Lanka, as it edges closer to the 70th anniversary of Japan-Sri Lanka diplomatic relations in 2022. And also this will further consolidate the long-standing economic relations between the two countries and open a new horizon for the time-honoured relationship.

Ambassador also extended the warm wishes to both the President and Prime Minister as the ground-breaking ceremony coincided with the first year anniversary of Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s Presidency and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s 75th birthday.

PELIYAGODA NEW VEGITABLE MARKET

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will open the Peliyagoda new Manning Market complex today.

The new Manning Market will feature 1,192 shops, a large parking lot, restrooms for staff, medical facilities, banks, restaurants, a cool room, hotels among other facilities.

The then government set up the Colombo Fish Wholesale Complex in Peliyagoda in 2011 as one of the solutions to the heavy traffic congestion in the city and for several other purposes including the convenience of the people, on the instructions of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa who was the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development at the time.

SUV වර්ගයේ වාහන ටයර් සදහා දේශීයව සහ විදේශීය ඉල්ලීම සැළකිල්ලට ගනිමින් වැඩි වශයෙන් ඒ වෙනුවෙන් අවධානය යොමුකිරීමට නියමිතවේ. යුරෝපිය තාක්ෂණික සහ තාක්ෂණික දැනුම උපයෝගී කරගනිමින් මෙහි නිෂ්පාදන කටයුතු සිදුකරනු ලබයි. අක්කර 155ක් පුරා විහිදුනු කර්මාන්තශාලා පරිශ්‍රය අවට හරිත පරිසරයද රැක ගනිමින් නිර්මාණය කොට තිබේ.

මෙරට දැවැන්ත ටයර් නිෂ්පාදන කම්හල් ව්‍යාපෘතියක් ආරම්භ කිරීමට ඩොලර් මිලියන 300ක ආයෝජන වටිනාකමකින් යුත් ආයෝජන ගිවිසුමකට චීනයේ ප්‍රමුඛ පෙළේ ටයර් නිෂ්පාදන සමාගමක් සමග ශ්‍රී ලංකා ආයෝජන මණ්ඩලය ඊයේ (19දා) අස්සන් තැබීය.
මෙම ගිවිසුම අස්සන් කරන අවස්ථාවට ස්කයිප් තාක්ෂණය ඔස්සේ අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ, ක්‍රීඩා අමාත්‍ය නාමල් රාජපක්ෂ, ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ චීන තානාපති යන මහත්වරු සහභාගි වූ අතර චීනයේ සිට Shandong Haohua Tyre Co.Ltd සමාගමේ සභාපති එහිදී අදහස් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

මෙරට ටයර් නිෂ්පාදන හා අපනයන ක්‍ෂේත්‍රයට නව මං පෙත් විවර කරමින් ශ්‍රී ලංකා ආයෝජන මණ්ඩලය ලොව ප්‍රමුඛ ටයර් නිෂ්පාදන සමාගමක් වන චීනයේ Shandog Haohua Tyre Co.Ltd සමාගම සමග ටයර් නිෂ්පාදන කර්මාන්තය ආරම්භ කිරීම සඳහා මෙලෙස ගිවිසුම් ගත විය.
සම්පූර්ණයෙන් ම අපනයන වෙළෙඳපොළ ඉලක්ක කරගනිමින් මෙහි ටයර් නිෂ්පාදනය වන අතර අර්ධ වානේ සහ වානේ රේඩියල් ටයර් නිපදවීම ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් අපේක්ෂා කෙරේ. බස් සහ ට්‍රක් වැනි බර වාහන ප්‍රමුඛ ඉලක්කයන් වේ. මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය සඳහා හම්බන්තොට ජාත්‍යන්තර වරාය සමූහය (HIPG) විසින් හම්බන්තොට ජාත්‍යන්තර වරාය කාර්මික කලාපය (HIP’s Industrial Park) තුළ අක්කර 121ක භූමියක් ලබාදී ඇත.
මේ තුළින් ඍජු රැකියා 2000කට වැඩි ප්‍රමාණයක් ජනිත වනු ඇතැයි අපේක්ෂා කෙරේ.
මෙම ආයෝජන ගිවිසුම සඳහා ශ්‍රී ලංකා ආයෝජන මණ්ඩලයේ සභාපති සුසන්ත රත්නායක, ආයෝජන සමාගම වෙනුවෙන් Cao Mingzhang සහ හම්බන්තොට ජාත්‍යන්තර වරාය සමූහය වෙනුවෙන් Xu Jiancum යන මහත්වරු අස්සන් තැබූහ.
ශ්‍රී ලංකාව මේ වන විට ඇමෙරිකානු ඩොලර් බිලියනයක රබර් නිෂ්පාදන අපනයනය කරයි. 2025 වසර වන විටදී එය බිලියන 2ක අපනයන කර්මාන්තයක් බවට පත්කිරීම රජයේ අපේක්ෂාවයි. මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය සක්‍රිය වීමත් සමඟ අපේක්ෂිත ඉලක්කයෙන් 30%ක් සපුරා ගත හැකිවේ.

ඉදිකිරීමට යෝජිත වරකාපල අතුරු මාර්ගයේ දිග මීටර් 2,350කි. මීටර් 22.80 ක පළලින් යුතුව මෙම මාර්ගය ඉදි කරනු ලබන අතර මෙම මාර්ගයේ ඇති විශේෂත්වය නම් මීටර් 550ක දිගින් යුතු ගුවන් පාලමත් මෙම මාර්ගය හරහා ඉදි කිරීමයි. මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය සඳහා ඇස්තමේන්තු ගත මුදල රු.මිලියන 4,111.16 ක්.
උතුර , උතුරු මැද ,නැගෙනහිර ,වයඹ , මධ්‍යම ,ඌව සහ සබරගමුව පළාත් රටේ ප්‍රධාන ආර්ථික කේන්ද්‍රස්ථානය වන බස්නාහිර පළාත සමඟ යා කරමින් දිවෙන කොළඹ මහනුවර ( A 001 ) මාර්ගය වරකපොල නගරය හරහා ඉදි වී තිබෙනවා. වරකපොල – රුවන්වැල්ල ( B 47 ) මාර්ගයේ හමුවන ධර්මසිරි සේනානායක මාව තින් ආරම්භ වන මෙම වරකාපල අතුරු මාර්ගය , අඹේපුස්ස -කුරුණෑගල- ත්‍රිකුණාමලය මාර්ගය ආරම්භ වන අඹේපුස්ස මංසන්ධියෙන් අවසන් වනවා.
