හිටපු එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂ අමාත්‍යවරයෙකු සහ එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂයේ මහ ලේකම්වරයෙකු ලෙස කටයුතු කළ සිරිසේන කුරේ මහතා කොළඹ පෞද්ගලික රෝහලක ප්‍රතිකාර ලබමින් සිටිය දී අභාවප්‍රාප්ත වී තිබෙනවා.

80 සහ 90 දශකයේ මෙරට දේශපාලනයේ පෙරළිකාර ප්‍රබල චරිතයක් වූ සිරිසේන කුරේ මිය යන විට අනූ හැවිරිදි වියේ පසු වුණා.

කොළඹ නගරාධිපති ලෙස 1979 වසරේ සිට 1989 වසර දක්වා වසර දහයක් කටයුතු කළ සිරිසේන කුරේ මහතා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවට තේරි පත් වන්නේ 1989 වසරේ දී.

ඔහු ජනාධිපති රණසිංහ ප්‍රේමදාස රජයේ යටතේ නිවාස හා ඉදිකිරීම් ඇමැතිවරයා වශයෙන් කටයුතු කළා.
