The results have not been published in a medical journal yet and only vague information released by Pfizer is available. One drawback is the physical transport of the vaccine. It has to be kept in super cold temperatures before use. I am sure this can be sorted out. It has to be kept at -70 degrees Celsius (-94 F) or below. (so you will not find it in the pharmacy)
Both Pfizer’s vaccine and Moderna’s one use messenger-RNA, or mRNA, technology. The science of mRNA vaccines is not really new, and it started almost 20 years ago when mRNA vaccines were reported to be effective for direct gene transfer.
There are two forms of mRNA vaccines - conventional mRNA vaccines and self-amplifying mRNA vaccines, which are derived from positive strand RNA viruses. However, these vaccines were not initially extensively utilized due to concerns about their fragile stability caused by omnipresent ribonucleases and small-scale production facilities.
Briefly, mRNA stands for messenger RNA. These strands of genetic material carry and contain the instructions to make proteins. Our cells churns the mRNA to build, maintain and repair the body. So what the scientists do is to design a mRNA which then forces our body cells to produce a proteins that mimic the ones that is found in specific viruses. In this instance the mRNA is designed with the recipe to match the Covid protein that helps the virus to attack us.
So when injected our cells start the action using this mRNA as a template to make the viral proteins. This in turn gears up our body to trigger the immune system to produce the antibodies for it. So if someone gets really infected with Covid the antibodies are already there that will identify the viral protein and start attacking it straight away. So in theory the immune system will destroy the virus before it really starts the illness.
PS: There are so many vaccine candidates around the world and all of them will work to a certain degree. Only time will tell the efficacy and for how long they would work for.
Animal testing with monkeys have been done and found to be effective. Human trials are continuing. Unfortunately these cannot be released fully unless the proper accepted standard protocols are adhered to. (Both China & Russia skipped the Phase III)
All of these vaccines are based on scientific research and methods - not on pseudoscience. There were about 150 vaccines when the race started and at present there are 21 in Phase I, 13 in Phase II and 10 in Phase III.

Talk about skipping testing stages by countries, many Facebook vedamahattayas have skipped all the stages and whipped up instant "cures" for corona as well as all types of cancers.
I should have probably mentioned that -94 Fahrenheit (-70 Celsius) for the Pfizer will limit where the vaccine can be used. Moderna’s mRNA vaccine must be stored at -4 F (-20 C), which is not ideal, but not quite as challenging. (We haven't got Moderna's vaccine results yet)

If this is gonna be a -94 F vaccine, probably most of our gov hospitals can't inject this to the general public on their own, I guess. I've no idea if our hospital chain has such facilities. Even no medical center/dispensary doctors' wouldn't be able inject this.
True. They are working on it. Moderna's one is similar and they have announced that they will charge between $32 - $37 per dose and cheap large volume pricings. They have already taken orders more than 1.1 Billion Dollars.
Moderna's vaccine must be stored at minus 4 degrees Fahrenheit, which will preserve it for up to six months and can also be refrigerated at about 36 degrees F for up to seven days. But it needs to be administered within 12 hours after thawing.
Pfizer hasn't released full details yet but working on the possibility of getting it stable at higher temperatures.

Before running the current large-scale study, the companies ran smaller clinical trials starting in May that were specifically designed to detect warning signs about the vaccine’s safety. They tried out four versions of their vaccine and selected the one that produced the fewest cases of mild and moderate side effects, such as fever and fatigue.
If their vaccine receives an emergency authorization from the F.D.A. and gets distributed to millions of people, the Centers for Disease Control and the F.D.A. will monitor them to make sure there’s no evidence of even rarer safety issues.Participants in the trial will also be monitored for two years.
