Mathews brought Herath on early, after just four overs, and he's struck a very important blow with a smart piece of bowling. Khurram, though, will be wondering why on earth he followed such a wide ball if he was only looking to defend

I have a feeling Herath sensed Khurram was extremely eager to keep feeling bat on ball, and sort of fed him a loopy wide ball with a lot of overspin. I imagine he was looking to try and entice Khurram into a drive, so he might have been surprised he chose to try and defend.
