“Handling the ball involves a deliberate act of a player making contact with the ball with his hand or arm. The referee must take the following into consideration:

the movement of the hand towards the ball (not the ball towards the hand)

    • the distance between the opponent and the ball (unexpected ball)

    • the position of the hand does not necessarily mean that there is an infringement

    • touching the ball with an object held in the hand (clothing, shinguard, etc.) counts as an infringement

    • hitting the ball with a thrown object (boot, shinguard, etc.) counts as an infringement”

The rulebook states that a player should be penalized (mostly by a free-kick or penalty or a maximum of a yellow card) in the scenario where he/ she deliberately handles the ball to ensure that the play is favourable for his/her team – either to retain possession/ keep advantage or score a goal.

In yesterday game whether its deliberately or not Perisics' hand move towards the ball.

This is technically not that true. For jumping high as possible to get more elevation you raise your hands at the start of the jump. Then with elevation they go down. So the hands are likely going down towards his sides and while doing that he couldn't anticipate the balls movement which was covered by Matuidi's head so unfortunately it hit his hand.

Sure naththam godak uda paninna balanna. You'll get what I mean.
And Rio Ferninand, Alan Shearer kiwwa it's not a pen kiyala

let's say that Matuidi wasn't there to cover the ball & perisic saw the ball clearly with the same movement & still hit his hand. Ehenam eka pen ekak.
But Matuidi is covering the ball so he can't anticipate it'd miss his head & come towards his arm

man nam kiyanne VAR use karaddi ref la 3n denek inna one kiyala. ethakota 2/3 ke vote eka. 2 video assitant refs & the main ref. Eka sadharanai imo to give a more clear decision if things aren't that clear.
Or the rules should be more specified & the refs should have the ability to clearly understand them & give a clear cut decision

Or declare every time ball touches the hand is handball.

Deliberate or not you can't hit the ball by hand inside the box :growl:

according to your 2nd logic it was not a penalty in Pique incident. Pique was not even facing the ball, but the ball was going towards the goal which he blocked by hand hence the penalty.

Look, his legs moves towards the ball too.

No machan it will be a offence if the player deliberately do so and it is clearly mention in the law there are lot of cases in Leagues and other major tournaments where such hand ball situations are neglected considering the unavoidable circumstances at the moment even within the penalty box. That is why the law states such steps to be taken in to consider by the referee. And same time law states that "Also, the referees need to be wary of players trying to manipulate the rules to get their way – attacking players may attempt to try to hit the hands of the defenders to get a free kick or penalty while an offending player may try to pretend that a deliberate handball was accidental."

Another factor to be considered is whether the player’s hands were in their natural position or not, as many defending players spread their arms in an attempt to increase the chances of blocking the ball. If the referee feels that the positioning of the player’s arms was not natural, then the player should be penalized.

Yes agree with what you say machan it would be a more appropriate and fair judgement over the situations.

A referee should taken all the above points and situations in to consideration before judgement. However at the end output depends upon the perspective towards the incidents by the referee. Someone may argue this should not be considered as a penalty while some may agree with the decision.

In yesterday game Croatia played better than France their passing accuracy and possession were better but France converted their limited chances in to Goals and they had some amount of luck too. ;););)

Yes what has happened is now over hope officials will take such kind of loop holes in to consideration and make the VAR, laws and rules better to deliver a fair judgement over such situations in future.:yes::yes:

video eka slow motion ne ban. in reality oka thapparen wena incident ekak.

anika ref tath decision eka sure nehe. Miniha VAR video eka balala apahu pitch ekata yanna gihin apahu harila thawa barak video eka baluwa. E kiyanne he hesitated. He wasn't 100% sure about the decision he was gonna make. Alan Sharer kiwwa eka.

I'm not saying it's not a pen. I'm saying the defender should be given the benefit of the doubt there cause for one he didn't have clear viewage of the ball & second it doesn't seem like the hands are moving unnaturally towards disrupting the ball

So about the VAR Penalty that was imposed against CROATIA....

After looking at all the discussions and the arguments presented by fellow Elakirians. I am now convinced that the law is correct, referee was correct, so

CROATIA in this case was not UNLUCKY but UNLUCKY to be imposed for Griezeman Penalty Kick

However coaches should take responsibility to train players on giving them new skills on how to defend corner kicks into the penalty boxes especially how to jump inside to defend the goal. If a COACH has not read and understood the rules then that COACH should be kicked out of the team.
