yeah, but we can't expect all 69 lakhs turned to NPP
im in a predominantly bayya area
Elders don't support NPP because of 88/89 incident (at least that what im hearing)
SLPP might get lot of votes too
others will vote for Sajith, just because the fact they hate NPP
We have 17 million registered voters. If we assume that 1 million of them were rejected voters, we still have 16 million valid voters. Additionally, there are
0.9 million new first time registered voters. Generally, in the Presidential election, votes will polarize between the top two candidates. So, if Ranil manages to pull the strings, he will be ahead of Sajith.
According to the census, there are 1.8 million people above 64 years old, and 14 million people between 15 and 64 years old. Even if we reject the votes of the 1.8 million elderly individuals, it's still a significant number.
Regarding the NPP, they are currently quite strong, leading in every poll. Even NPP almost tied Kulanthi's poll on Twitter. If I recall correctly, the difference between RW(31%) and AKD(30.5%) was 0.5%.
Damn. It's impressive to see that 30.5% are in favor of the guy from Thambuttegama Central who is leading the poll on Twitter, specially considering it's on Kulanthi's profile(I dn't knw whether you know her. Just check her profile and see how biased that bitch). This could indicate a landslide victory in real life.
The same shit was repeated in the 2015 presidential election as well. They will likely surpass 5 million votes. However, I can't say whether they will reach 50%.
On the other hand, I am confident about the SJB voter base. Now, It's crucial for Sajith and the SJB to focus on securing at least their voter base from the 2019 general election.
