Thy Light is probably one of the best depressive black metal ..they need to release more stuff so is silencer..
forgotten tomb is probably the best example how katatonia influenced black metal bands..
dsbm cheers me up and empowers me in a strange way.

what are the good death metal bands these days? think I've only listened to a couple of well known bands..

i listen to forgotten tomb bcos their music is much Deference than other bands in same genre .. silencer is Epic but i could not find anyting about Nattramn after Death, Pierce Me album ..

Galgenfrist ..those two albums mark Nortts place in metal history. Unique band

If I ever kill myself, that would be to Gudsforladt album, it's a masterpiece of Melancholy and depression..

their guitar tuning is not easy to stomach the first few times around but it grows on you and rewards in the end.
