This version is off a recording of songs played on the Commercial Service of SLRC. I wonder if even SLRC has the original version..

Sure they have.
I recorded this version from Sinhala National service of SLBC few days ago. Unfortunately their online stream is ~ 40kbps. This song sounded much better when listening from the radio.

SLBC ලගෙ CD වලත් තියෙන්නේ original version එක නෙවෙයි. අලුත් recording එකක් හෝ original recording එක උඩට hi hat, drums, base tracks ටිකක් අතඇරලා re master කරපු ඒවා. original ඒවා ඒ තියෙන විදියටම remaster / restoration කරපු ඒවා හොයා ගන්න සෑහෙන්න අමාරුයි. හැබැයි SLBC channels වල original version වාදනය වෙනවා ඉඳලා හිටලා.
