Well i think if u upgrade it will fix ur problem, but dialog has to know about it. Better talk to them. may be to a manager

that'll be an absolute waste of time. 99.9% of the time their customer care has no idea how t configure on windows other than the only method they are taught and they have no idea what linux is. If you talk to a manager, he'll have no idea how to plug the thing in to a USB port let alone configure it.

GOD ur so unwise, Ofcource the Huawei E220 supports Linux but only in 2.6.2X and upward kernels, just update ur Linux dude dont bitch, i cant belive ur only using linux and dont know this, plus theres something called "Google" if you search this "E220 Linux" youll get tons of info on how to install the modem on Linux, why do u ppl always depend on some one elses openion, just do a research ur self,

1. After extract tar.gz file, change directories to the file and be the su@superuser@sudo. However, you can try both of them.

Installation instructions:
For installation, firs you must be a root and run this command:

make special
(for mandriva and sabayon)

make install

2.Dial wvdial huawei or sh /etc/mod.sh at terminal or use kppp to dial.

3. I have test to 16 distro (top 20 distro at distrowatch) and it's work. But it doesn't work with FreeBSD, Mepis 5, gOS 2.0 Beta and Zenwalk 5.0

4. For opensuse, copy and paste all of this at terminal. Dont forget to be a root first.

i tred this software salutis-connect_1.2.8_all.deb and it works clean and handy with ma e220 modem from dialog....

but wana do a change to wvdial.conf like

the thing is there is no he220stat compiled file get created when i compile it. only the GUI one gets created... that doesnt work....
