Avira is the best..detection wise as well as for using minimum system resources

but it has become damn impossible to get a valid license key that will not get black listed after 2 weeks of use..

Kapersky is over rated..It has gone down rating wise..as well as detection wise.

Heres the latest test results from AV Test (One of the most respected independent testing orgs)

    http://jschulmansr.wordpress.com/2008/09/04/virus-bulletin-news-av-test-release-latest-results/

The testing is done for malware, spyware, false positives, response times, ect.

Avira Tops the list..then comes Avast & AVK (G-Data), Bit Defender also in there..but kaspesky has gone to shit

    KASPERSKY internet security[trial] + spyware terminator[free]
 this can be also handy.

but the thing is it differse from what we do.
for examples..if we Download alot of Patches, cracks Programmes,films...and also if we use Limewire, torrents and so many Softwares like that to Download Stuff from net.We have to think more about the PC security.Coz Viruses are there.:D

So the method that u have given here suits...as i guess for normal surfers...:D
    isn't it..:confused::)

machan if u compare such evaluations lyk the 1 u r showing here it's very harder to gez which1 is the best. coz each test is bias for sum limit coz f ads n all u knw.

so wot u shud do is take advice from a respectable site.;) i cant remember the sites tho. but generally they all award KIS the best.. :D

    cheers m8 safe surf!

    Nope..

av-test.org is one of the best, one of the most independent & respected virus testing organizations in the world...Always check this site to get acurate & independent results.

Heres the original results page for Sep 2008 - http://www.virusbtn.com/news/2008/09_02

Kaspersky is not the best & has not been the best for sometime now .... about time that people realizes this..

    G-Data has a mal/spy detection rate of 99.9%
    F-Secure 2009 - 99.6%
    WebWasher - 99.2%
    Avira Antivire - 99%
    Kaspersky - 98.3 %

Kaspersky has the slowest scan rate as well as one which uses a lot of system resources..also it gives out a lot of false positives..

change to Avira, F secure or G-data

when we use something for sometime we get used to it & dont like to change to a new one... this doesnt mean that its the best..

A virus guard should be considered best on the % it detects mal/spy & viruses, response time & for me 'user friendliness' & ''how much system resources it uses'

    Nortans detection rate is HORRIBLE - 94 % ??????

IT IS ONE OF THE WORST VGs AROUND !!!

may b itz nt d best yet it has sum gr8 rates... in almost every test KIS scores big. and thats a fact.;)
Programs such as FSecure WebWasher GData plus Avira arent so good among certain tests involving tests related 2 different aspects of an antivirus.:)

I used Avira. And if sum1 says Avira is a good antivirus I willagree. but i hate some things abt it. For instance their extremely slow update servers keep u waiting forever till an update finish. i also hate their advertising pop-ups that come with the free version.

I havent heard much abt the rest.

In my opinion they are all good 1s. Well except Norton and Symantec.

wel as 4 me i'v used almost all out there.:lol: and i switched 2 KIS from the rest coz itz hard 2 use cracked softwares or their patches using MOST AV guards... they detect even keygens as viruses. it can realy b a nuisance. thats why i use KIS. it detects only Viruses as Viruses. no false detections so far.:D

And i dont worry abt detection rates coz i knw dat KIS is 1 of the best.:)

Norton sux big tym... theres rumour that Norton is the best choice in countries lyk China.. i dont knw how thatz possible.

AVG is ok but i hate d new 1. coz 1ce u hav installed it u cant delete it n reinstall another AV. coz certain registry keys remain in d system.. i had 2 reinstall XP.. crap

U can use Tune Utilities 2008 and repair registry erors and clear them...

and also u can manually delete any by searching registry entries using the Software..:)
