Are these two statements contradicting?

I think it's quite clear that following two statements contradict. But I came across few interesting people in this thread ,who are way past my margin of rational thinking, so I'm interested to know who are the others like them. There will be at least few 'NO' s I'm guessing.

Of course you r right, fight against persecutors,only when they come to fight with you,

have you not noted it is talking abt persecution, so it is against persecutors..Of course against oppressors, persecutors you will fight wherever......won't you do so.

Different people can interpret the quran in different ways, that is understandable. But a sane person denying the obvious, like the contradiction in above two statements is just.. you know insane...

The given two statements are sufficient to decide whether they contradict or not. I only want the opinion as to whether they contradict in literal sense.
