The Asus X51R is a beginner's notebook, which basically attracts by its price.
The average non-striking design fits well to a low-cost notebook.
Surprisingly, the workmanship of the X51R won't allow to classify it as low-cost computer.
On the contrary, the case convinces by compact and robust construction,...
...even if the notebook is out of plastics with weak haptics.
The first saving measures get apparent at the provided interfaces.
Despite the keyboard is not attached to the case absolutely tight, it is comfortable in use.
The 15.4 inch display surprised by good measurement results.
For the benefit of price, the performance is reduced.
Still, Vista runs on the X51R, even if it is troublesome.
By upgrading with another 512MB Ram even a layperson can improve the performance.
Although the noise of the fan is limited, it rapidly changes the revolutions.
The surface temperatures were alright.
The sound of the speakers is also acceptable, but the maximum volume is rather limited.
The maximum battery runtime of only 2 hours is the second main weakness.
