The process of manufacture of a CD by stamping begins with the production of the scale model, the master. We must start off of an original one, normally recorded in a conventional Pc’s recorder.
All the process of manufacture of the masters has to be done in clean cameras, with the leaked and sterilized air at any moment.
The workers are protected to avoid detachments of hair or grudges of skin. The smallest dust particle can ruin all the process.
The first material that is worked out are the glass discs, which are polished until obtaining a surface adapted for the process. Next they are covered with a resin layer very tenuous, but appropriated to exert its function. On this crystal disc with the resin it is where with a laser the image of the CD is recorded.
In the photo you can see that through oblique light it is possible to see the image printed on the resin. With these discs that already take all the information of the CD, we begin to make the metal plates (zinc) that are going to contain the information. In the photo it is possible to see two of these metallic discs, before and after cut.
