if you not using dual vgas then g31 is enough, coz you are using 2 gb ram.
g31 is so cheap and you can use 4gb in it. and you can overclock also.nobody wants to over clock 2.4 quad over 3.5 ghz mark right?.I just gave you options that all brother.:cool::cool:

    G31 charter ban...
    i want a powerful motherboard...
how does the amount of RAM conflict with the Mobo im going to buy???

i may overclock it for that if i cud supply better cooling...and im on for it...

    ofcoz, and mainly video encoding...

u mean when i input and output? can u expln a bit???

a Powerful motherboard doesn't necessarily mean high end gaming or performance. If u gonna burn an insane amount of money for features which u don't use at all it's a waste.. In that aspect a vanilla P35 mobo would be fine.. or even a G33..
I/O in a sense Disk reading like wise.. :)
anyways u can buy the FOxconn Mars for like 15,500 from Unity Plaza (Barclays) :D

shift to ATI dude :P whether u use crossfire or not now ATI is getting better than nVidia and the P35 is way better than nForce chipset even my board(DG31PR) supports core2 quad lol its now available for about 5000-6000rs get a normal mobo if u are not into crossfire or SLI then plugin HD4870 n you r ready for gaming ...a normal mobo means a mobo without SLI or crossfire and other fancy stuff...dont go for intel if u want to OC

For video encoding you need cpu power memory bandwidth and memory capacity right?
If you use core 2 quad with 4gb ,800 DDR2

All mbo chip sets are equal,G31,G33,P35 giving you same level of performance.

dude that's a seriously unbalanced pc. go for a low end cpu and overclock the crap out of it, and use that money you save from the cpu on a vga card.

u can get 3.5GHz easily from an E5200, and you can get a 8800gt for around 20k these days.

    except for overclocking :)

G series chipsets have a hardware limitation because they have to keep the integrated video running stably.

    though *stock* performance is SAME!!!
