500W should be enough for normal PCs.

it's not about the wattage. it's about the quality of the psu.

these crappy ones that come in crappy cases can blow up (for real!!!) when the load is too much.

and we don't hate the quad core. if you go with a quad core, buy other parts to match the cpu, like 4gb ram and a 8800gt.

it's like you buy a Maruti with a Ferrari engine

btw, if you can't afford a vga right now, then buy a motherboard that has integrated graphics and use it until you can afford a good vga (save the money of the 9400gt). then that is fair! buying a 9400gt saying you don't have money is not a good reason.

but then again, you are spending almost 20k on the mobo. just spend 10k or less on it, and add that money to the amount you are spending on the 9400gt and get at least a 9600gt (8800gt is preferred). how much is the 9400gt anyway? 8800gt is about 20k.
