    Where I'm now
asus and gigabyte walin mokakda wadiya honda
ASUS and Gigabyte are united.:P Both have same their ups and downs but they are probably the best on earth for MBs now.MSI and DFI fall close behind and MSI is bit cheaper too.If you are not gonna put heavy OCing MSI and foxconn will be good.Gigabyte is less expensive than ASUS.For your concerns, buy a mobo with a P45 chipset.I hope you are going to put a decent VGA too.

Now to the bashing part :P

Intel does make CPUs but their coolers are crap.
    Same with mobos.
They make chipsets good but mobos with em are crap.

I saw a guy promoting abit. I don't know whether that idiot knows abit went bankrupt and closed the company 5 months ago.abit IN9 max is a good mobo yes, but who buys old junk without any support?

Foxconn is good too but their product lineup has gaps to fillout the needs of the customer.

You may buy a mobo with equivalent features to a Gigabyte P45-DS3 variant.

This is 100% true!!!!!!:yes: If u want to listen to most of the idiots who have commented here, go for an intel Mobo!!:rofl::rofl:
If u hv the slightest amount of common sense and understand this guys comment go for a ASUS or a Gigabyte one. MSI is also good.Although we are commenting on the brands, its up to you to decide when it comes to a specific model because it totally depends on what you expect to use it for (eg for OCing etc.)

Well it was done about 7-8 months ago.Thats why Gigabyte calls them "Gigabyte United".It works like this.51% Gigabyte 49% ASUS.4 Directors from Gigabyte.2 From ASUS.Companies continue as the same.Remeber their was an issue Gigabyte bashing that ASUS doesn't save power its just an add and ASUS sueing gigabyte and it was settled silently? That was after uniting..Nice Publicity , eh? :P

Intel, Gigabyte, Asus, MSI they all make good motherboards. It depends on the chipset and the features you get. All manufacturers have high end gaming boards with lot of extras and low end budget boards. Therefore you can’t just ask what is the best board based on the brand name.

In general, Intel motherboards are ok, but they are not the best in terms of features or price, usually Intel motherboards give the bare minimum and you have to pay a premium for the brand. Perhaps they have less compatibility issues, but you'll get lot more from 3rd party manufacturers. I personally prefer Asus, but Gigabyte, MSI they are all more or less the same. Pick few boards then read some online reviews, that is how I normally choose. Chipset is the most important thing, then only you should consider the brand. As for Quad core chipsets: P35 < P45 < X38 < X48 (X series is too expensive and IMO not worth the money unless you are an extreme gamer)

    ASUS and Gigabyte are united.:P
United as in collaborating / partners ? There was some talk about a joint venture few years back, but I don't think they went ahead with it . No mention about a joint venture in any of the Wikipedia sites, however there is some news on a falling out.
