True but fonseka was a battle tested veteran at that point (yes fonseka might have many shortcomings but it's undeniable the fact that he was an excellent General)

Where as PB's record up to this point ranges from pretty meh to outright terrible. My concern is gota in fact had many other well reputed people in his viyath maga who would have been a much better choice.

But as you said it's too early to make a decision, giving the benefit of the doubt for the time being seems to be the wise choice.
