Sure, and it seems technically possible of course, but it still not satisfies the theoretical aspect of “සුතමය” as described in the pitaka.

IMO it is just because listening was the only medium available at that time (no scriptures).

Yes, good point but lord Buddha was considered as සර්වඥ and dhamma meant to be අකාලික, so one would expect what lord Buddha mentioned is to be precise.

Although dhamma is akalika, buddha has used things around him for suttas for people lived in that time. IMO one should not expect he would say, after this many years there will be written scriptures and then digital readings and so on and make sure not to use them..

Yes, agree, I think same goes for listening dhamma online (YouTube, Audible etc…).
