mama me dawas wala hoyanawa 7-8lakhs athara ganna puluwan 18- numbers cars gana wisthara.....Umbala danna kiyana ewa thiyenawanam poddak mawa danuwath karapn....(interested in Toyota Corolla,carina,Nissan sunny,charade)

machan..leeka has done his job pretty well.those are the japanese vehicles you could get for that price range..
the mazda familia / interplay is a good car.great value for money..and it has the looks out of the bunch,
the corolla is a bit expensive but yet again,its a toyota.corollas are well known for their reliability,good after market resale.great cars and easy to maintain(cheap maintainance).
you could go for a 87 ford laser in the same price range.
there are several MINIs,coopers,and mini morkes if you have a classical liking.

if you could extend you budget to 8.5-9 lacks,you could get a decent 92/93 eg8 civic,a bhalp mazda familia which are comparably modern cars.less hassle for you assuming that your new to cars.
stay away from Korean,Malaysian & Chinese cars.they may be cheap,but you will end up making the garage owner rich!

do your own research,and search for at least 2-3 months.
