I dont think so!

Just because CIMA Sri Lanka branch *closed shop* doesn't mean that your qualification is not valid anymore!

That doesn't make any sense at all!
i thnk we can;t do exams now ? or can we do ?

The way I understand is... if CIMA SL is no more then you cannot get certified by CIMA in SL, which I think leaves you 2 options... either choose something else like ACCA or go somewhere else to learn it!

You really need to ask from the authorities about this!

I'm not so sure about CIMA certification procedures and stuff.. but if you already completed CIMA why do you need the governing body? I think governing body is only important for students to make sure that they are properly governed before they are certified!

Anyway dont believe hear say about this.. go out and find your self... many people's businesses might be in jeopardy because of this and its not that difficult for them to make up stories.. hope you getting what I'm saying here!

If you already doing it.. its better to make sure your certification is guaranteed as per promised by your local institute, the best way to do this is.. somebone behalf of all the students write to CIMA HQ and inquire about it!!!

The decision has been taken today to suspend the Sri Lanka Divisional Council with immediate effect. This was decided collectively by the CIMA Council, the Institute's governing body, after considering the recommendation of an independent review.

A consultative body of at least three members in Sri Lanka is to be appointed by the President and other Honorary Officers of CIMA to advise on the affairs of the Sri Lanka Division during the suspension period.

CIMA's commitment to its Division in Sri Lanka remains as strong as ever. However the well-established success of CIMA in Sri Lanka has been put at risk due to some failures of governance within the Sri Lanka Divisional Council and by a lack of adherence to CIMA's global strategic goals and rules.

Business will continue as usual and there will be no impact on the service that our stakeholders receive. Members, students and employers will be unaffected by this decision. We will continue to build and maintain the reputation of our internationally recognised qualification in Sri Lanka for the benefits it provides to those who chose to take the qualification.

The Sri Lanka CIMA council is governed by the BOD and CEOs and they have been suspended and would only affect the corporate or strategic operation only and would not affect the tactical operation as this is an internal problem within the committee and it has nothing to do with the employers, members, students and the qualification itself!

These similar problems can happen to many organizations and what matters here is not the failure of practice and rules of the committee of the organization but the appointed BOD CEOs failure in meeting the ethical values and the corporate governances! And it’s normal for such an internal problem to be adjusted for any organizations as CIMA UK is in taking immediate actions!

Yes, Even though they couldn't manage themselves they taught us management. That effort should be appreciated.
