Big Deals in Hayleys pushed CSE turnover to Rs 8.77 billion.

Hayleys Plc Deputy Chairman Mr. Dhammika Perera acquired further 3,536,159 shares of Hayleys at Rs 380.00 per share. Above stake was sold by Hayleys subsidiary Dipped Products PLC . CSE benchmark All Share price index was up by 72.21 points or 1.05 percent to close at 6951.50 while more liquid Milanka Index closed 67.94 points higher at 6301.76.

In another development Hayleys Plc has acquired 51 percent of Amaya Leisure Plc (CONN). 24,524,961 shares of CONN traded during the day and closed 2.30 lower at Rs 107.70. More than 11 million shares of ACME changed hands and closed five rupees higher at Rs 28.10. Price Band was imposed again on HVA Foods Plc from 1st August 2011 to 7th August 2011 while Price Band imposed on Singer Finance too for same period.

John Keells Holdings closed at Rs 215.00, up 3.30 while National Development Bank was up by 4.30 to close at Rs 142.70. Commercial Bank of Ceylon Plc closed at Rs 229.80, up 4.60. There were 150 gainers and 54 negative contributors for the day. Foreign investors were net sellers with net outflow of Rs 65,141,702.00.

හේලීස් සමාගම් සමූහයේ නියෝජ්‍ය සභාපති ධම්මික පෙරේරා මහතාට අයත් Amaya Leisure හෝටල් සමාගමේ සියයට 51 ක කොටස් හේලීස් සමූහය විසින් රුපියල් බිලියන 2.6 කට මිලදී ගනී.

මේ පිළිබඳව කොළඹ කොටස් වෙළඳ පොළට දැනුම් දී තිබෙන අතර මෙහිදී එකක් රුපියල් 107 ක් වන කොටස් මිලියන 24.4 ක් විකුණා ඇත.

මෙහීදී, හේලීස් සමාගම කොටස් මිලියන 12.79 ක් හෙවත් සියයට 26.62 ක කොටස්ද, හේලීස් සමාගමට අනුබද්ධ Dean Foster සමාගම කොටස් මිලියන 10.25 ක් හෙවත් සියයට 21.34 ක කොටස්ද, හේලීස් සමාගමේ Toyo Cushion Lanka සමාගම කොටස් 816,400 ක් හෙවත් සියයට 1.70 ක කොටස් මිලදී ගෙන ඇත.

මීට අමතරව, හේලීස් සමූහයට අයත් Volanka Exports සමාගම කොටස් 642,900 ක් හෙවත් සියයට 1.34 ක කොටස් මිලදීගෙන තිබේ.

Stock Market on Thursday 9/1/2011 [/B]

The market turnover reached a massive Rs. 8.77 billion spurred by speculative interest on certain counters and crossing on HAYL and CONN also boosting the market sentiments further. ASPI in total gained 1.05% while the MPI gained 1.09%. DIPPED products disposed their holding of Hayleys amounting to 3.54 million shares, each priced at Rs. 380. Brokers say retailers dominated activity today continuing to speculate on stocks in the likes of CLND, HVA, ACME and PAP. There was also interest in the Motor sector led by COLO while specific interest was seen in the blue chip JKH. Price gainers outnumbered losers 167 to 63. Foreigners were on the selling side resulting in an outflow of Rs. 65.14 million. Market Turnover stood at Rs. 8.77 billion.
