Grimm Fairy Tales is a comic book series published by Zenescope Entertainment that began publication in June 2005. It is a horror series that takes old fairy tales and gives them twists, sometimes extending them and sometimes changing them. There have been only two annuals published, the first in September 2007 and the other in December 2008. Both contain several stories connected by a common theme and interwoven into the storyline of the main series, which thus far consists of 36 published issues (just posted prior to this).

Today's teenagers have enough problems to deal with; that's where Sela comes in. She offers insight to their problems by showing them that it could be worse. She comes across one young person at a time and helps them through their problems, by telling them a story. Sela gets her stories from a book given her by an ancient being who also granted her powers for the sole purpose of helping humanity, even if her advice might sometimes fall onto deaf ears.
Sela has taken on many appearances and names; one of her alternate identities that she frequently uses is Dr. Mathers, a teacher. Aside from this, Sela frequently appears as a sexy young woman with long black hair and glasses.
In Grimm Fairy Tales Annual #1 (2007), a new character has appeared named Belinda. She acts as a polar opposite to Sela, and rather than using fairy tales to help people, she uses them to make their lives worse. She briefly fills Sela's role as a storyteller to a group of small children at a school, and tells them twisted versions of Jack and Jill, The Old Woman Who Lived In a Shoe, Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater, Little Boy Blue, and Pinocchio. Pinocchio, Peter Peter, and Jack and Jill all suggest that Belinda had a hand in influencing them. When she finishes reading, all of the children are horribly traumatized, except for one boy named Timmy. When he approaches Belinda and tells her that he liked her stories, he tells her that his mother's boyfriend has been doing bad things to him. Belinda tells him that she will help him, and her "helping hand" was seen in #20, The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Belinda and Sela fought in #22, The Snow Queen, and #23-24, Snow White and Rose Red, which will further explore their relationship.
This storyline continues in Grimm Fairy Tales Annual #2 (2008), where Sela falls asleep while the character first seen in #30, Rip Van Winkle, takes over as narrator and meets Belinda...
