Computer science is different from Software , Networking or IT degree.
It's about learning to be a computer scientist. It's more bias to academic and
research. It you are aiming for a job then follow a IT or a Software Engineering
related undergraduate course.
Computer Science is about research and academic. There are few firms like MIT,
Zone24 which hire research engineers. Just get to know what you are doing.
IT courses are available at UoM and UCSC , SLIIT like places. But the problem is
it would be boring. You may not learning interesting subjects like "Theory of
computation" , the job is not about the money, your mind need something to think.
So deciding that is up to you. Pure academic science or some industry or engineering
based ?
Just with CS [computer science degree] you could only get a teaching job, you need
at least an master to get a good job in pure research field. Those jobs are only
available in places like MIT etc etc.
