If your want to find a cheap place go to Wanathamulla or squatter settlement (much better than India!)
We do not remove car parts of foreigners (As shown in Slumdog Millionaire) near historic sites.(we do not have places like Agra where all the tourists are exploited to the maximum- I went there last November)
