I got quite an experience listening to this album on a cold raining night with all the windows open. . the rain was coming into the room and somewhere it was dripping from the ceiling. It's an experience i can't explain in words anymore.
The theme of this album seems to be about the winter, darkness and cold . . those are the environmental cues u need when u'r listening to this album.
I'm thinking why doom has such a sense in our mind, is it coz ppl are pure pessimistic or do they perfer negativity over the sugar cake world.
i wonder if agalloch are doom at all ..vocals aren't doom at all and their music is too progressive and this album is the only one i find less folkish may be that's why i can't get into other albums in the first place ..so id say they are folk black progressive doom metal if such a thing exists lol
