It's the same as what i was trying to point out in my take about the media . . so i agree with u on these points.
the answer is no. i can't do anything if u also want to associate yourself with the type of ppl i describe. u simply don't fall to it coz what u'r doing is a constructive criticizm about emo culture. and your take on emos are different, not a useless supression based on nothing. I'm talking about ppl who supress emos (for matter any alternative culture) with no clear basis, what motivates them is the fear and the alienness they feel when they eccounter a thing like this.
Ok I'll do another take on media (this time a novel) Dan Brown's da Vinchi Code disses about a cult, opus dei . .he portrays it as a evil cult which is bent on destryoing the "holy grail" (he means something other than a cup as holy grail here) wut happened after this book, ppl became afraid about the real opus dei. . sure opus dei is an extreme cult, but the misinformation had a deadly effect on them. whatever their purpose was the negative publicity in forms of defectors, protestors and fuckalots had it's toll.
lol emos attacking themselves is just the media streotyping about emos, it's what they want to show out as an emo . . .u can blame the media for imprinting this idea that instead of resisting they might kill themselves. there are cases of emos doing mass protests too . .against mistreatment and not being accepted by the society for what they are. i think i pointed out to u an aritcle about emos and punks picking a fight in mexico some months earlier.
lol it's the mentality u need to avoid, u'r becoming a pawn of media. it's they who want to show out that making fun is what they deserve, but not tolerance. It's not totally self amusement, but u need to understand that these ppl led a different life, it's ok to be sarcastic about emos, but not to ridicule.
u know if a person is weak, it's easy to kick him in the butt and it's always the weak who gets suppressed, an emo intentionally portrays a weakness, this makes ppl think "oh so exploitable" and attack them and make fun of their exisitance.
the right to choose for u'rself is a thing i agree on, and saying an emo commits suicide just coz of bullying is just a part of the emo stereotype not the real thing. . .and mind u i told u earlier that being emo means nothing like an ultimate suicide pact.
I'm not generalizing every software engineer out there, coz i've been in the scene atleast at an academic level, i know how it's a pain in the ass to keep up with project groups and develop software. That said, this IT guy is an abstract case i used to point out that a guy with a "life" will think nothing else but his life. and he will be confined by the mentality he was bought up, will not try to think or appreciate the others. not all, but have to say most ppl sadly can't think outta their box, they live in their own deep wells and the life they knows is only what they see in their surrounding.
It's punk which led into emo . . .u can see that the dresscode and the lyrics are just a modification of punk.. . i took the alternative tag coz anything not soft rock tends to be put under alternative these days.
agreed, a person who might have been abused as a child can become an abuser himself, but think there is a different path too. . .this child can turn his pain and self despair in to something useful, he may become an activitist, an artist or novelist. . .it's the positive side, u'll have to agree there are ppl who do that. Not all becomes abusers, actually the abusers are very less . . the fact is the media publicity they get. and for a case the activitists are also less, most will just carry on silently.
