lankawe internet prices are insane nedha? honestly

here in Australia, our broadband plan is Cable (no annoying phone lines involved and error-free), 8 Mbps Download/ 256kbps upload 12000MB (12GB) Unlimited and we pay 59 Australian Dollars a month. That's around 5900 rupees per month and this is with an expenisve service provider called Telstra. cheap nedha?

i guess this is the only cheap thing in australia compared to lanka...but all other charges in AUS are much much more than in lanka , for e.g. electricity bills =O

    Hi Guys/Girls,

Listn to my Story............. I was a happy 512/128 SLT ADSL user until my company requested me to go for a Dialog WIMAX Broadband connection.

Apperently I applied for Dialog Broadband (2Mbps plan with a Static IP) connection and as they promissed the Dialog WIMAX team (Which is an out sourced company called MASS or something) came to my residence and after 4~5 hours they'managed to find the "Base Station" th've been looking for. But they had to drill a hole on my roof (Actually end of the sheet) after few hours they completed the hardest part of the job and did the cabling. Finally they fixed it to my computer and I was amazed by the speed test.

But After few days my happiness started melting  as the maximum attainable speeds went down

I made a call to the call centre and they said the speed which i'm getting is acceptable. so funny :baffled:

Today morning when I tried to start working I couldn't log in to internet as the connection was not authenticating.. So I rang up Broadband Help Desk and logged a complain after 4~5 hours they rang me up and said that they had a problem yesterday and not its sorted....

Wonder Dialog is gonna improve the service?

    Just a nice story guys,

WiMax installing team is suck as well as sales people, they have no idea how to check the coverage.

when I checked the coverage with the sales person, she told me that the base station is near to my house it like 200m away. (suck)
Installation people who told me you can have good single because the base station is near to my house. Once they check with the small unite of GPS system they cannot find any signal from that base station, Then they actually try to get the signal they are not getting anything, after that they found that base station is not activated yet.
So they change the directions and found another base station. 1st they have install 20f tall pole and found that the signal is not good enough. And they install 40f tall pole and found good signal.
However now they said that they can’t install the service. I am not sure why, (f--k)
(I guess because of 40f tall pole)
    looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

Correct I asked the installation guys why cant they fix 40 feet pole. they gave a sad reply  they told me that if they fix a second pole (20 feet X 2) the company will think that they've been paid under hand and will charge the installation team for the pole.. My question is why are they sending another 20 feet pole if they don't alow to fix 40 feet?? God only knows.......
