Core 2 price da? Not so much. You can buy a 1.86GHz one for the price of a 3.4GHz PentiumD I suppose. Anyway, the top motherboards are out of reach :(

Threads are small process like things inside a main process. Every process has at least one thread.

For example, in a web browser, the page rendering/loading and the menu displays work in different threads. If there were not separated, you won't be able to open a menu, while a page is loading & vise versa.

Gigabyte N680i-DQ6 (not sure if this is the exact model name) or
Abit QuadGT or
Intel P975XBX2 or
Asus P5B Deluxe or
Asus P5W-DH or
Asus Striker Extreme or
Asus Commando or.... the list goes on
(All these are US$200 or more, Asus Striker extreme reaching US$400 price tag)

You think Gigabyte are bad? They come up with most of the innovations. (Thought I disliked them because the motherboard from my old PC was junk)

DELL is fine, if you go for high end stuff. Low end PCs are same from everyone = utter crap!
