listen to a lot of streamed music of genres varying from 70's funk to classical to electronica of various sorts so I've waited to review until I've lived with the speakers for awhile. Highs are quite bright. Mids are very clean. Lows are probably what you should expect from a 4-inch speaker. They exist but mostly via their absence. Chopin lovers will love these. You're really going to want something to power that low end if that's appropriate to the music you listen to or for any pass through the 1812 Overture.
Spoken word (movies and television, etc.) is legible and clear though if you're watching an action film, you're going to be underwhelmed by explosions. Again, find something to drive that low end. I didn't have any difficulty out of the connections that others have reported but the included wiring is basic so you might want to supplement them with a decent braided aux-RCA cable especially if you want to handle the wiring regularly (like plugging in a phone).
