- I do believe it is human. This sort of head is only a container for the ego.
- Doctor, what are humans?
- Our ancestors. In a way, they're gods.
- This is God... What should we do with it?
- Well, it seems he's lost all his memories due to shock, and his life support apparatus is damaged. I guess we could try giving him a body.**
[Who the hell are you bastards? They don't seem to understand me? What the?! The hell?! The fuck is this body?! Where... am I? Who... are you? Who... am I?] **
- If it's reproduction you're after, how about looking for a tree of life?
- [A tree of life?]
- Yes. We call them trees, but really, they're Marigans** that have mutated into tree form. We're born as their fruit. But once a tree produces fruit, it dies. A handful of the fruits have the mothering nature and become the next trees. But the fruit inherit the personality of the mother. The trees should be cherished and nurtured, but it seems the wild, violent ones get destroyed.
- [Where can I find a tree of life?]
- That, I don't know. The original tree of life is somewhere in Kaapvaal. Supposedly it still bears fruit, but I don't know if a human would be able to approach it or not. You can get there fast on the Red Rail. But to get there you have to go through the area where that monster is.
- What's heaven like?
- [I don't know, but supposedly it's nice]
- Didn't you come from heaven?
- [No! I came from up above, which is where humans live]
- But aren't humans gods?
- [No, not at all]
- Then where's heaven?
- [Supposedly if you do good things, you go there when you die]
- But humans don't die, do they?**
- [Since I came down here I almost died a lot of times. Up there I had forgotten what it's like, but down here I really feel alive]
- I'd really like to see the world above sometime. The sky is pretty, right?
- [Yeah, it's really pretty]

Set in centuries in the future when mankind has achieved immortality through a combination of genetic manipulation and cybernetic augmentation. As a consequence of this manipulations humanity has lost the ability to reproduce. To overcome this, the workforce was filled with genetic clones called "Marigans" who rebelled against their creators and retreated underground to a massive network of subterranean temples. Years later, their descendants have populated the underground, while the remaining humans live on the surface. When a disease begins ravaging the human population, selected humans begin to venture underground in search of a cure in the clones' genetic code. One such explorer, an unnamed human, is attacked and loses his memory upon arrival. He soon finds himself transferred into a new body and put to work by the denizens of the underground and at the mercy of the creatures that live there.
- I've worked homicide for thirteen years and I've seen a lot of strange shit. But I have never seen anything like this. Who are you, and what are you doing here? You think this is some kind of a game? You think you can waltz into this town turn my department upside down endanger my men's lives? I want answers! Why does it take fifteen shots to take down some zoned out stripper? Why do three law abiding citizens go crazy and start killing people? I want answers, and I want them now!
- Miller, the stripper, DeVries were the same and it's not human. I've been after it for a long time. Now it's here, on Earth, in your city. The way it works is it finds a body gets inside, uses it to move around. It stays in that body until the body is so damaged it has to find another body. That's the only time I can kill it when it's between bodies. I missed my chance when it came out of the stripper. It found another body and changed before I got there. But I don't have to look for it anymore. It knows I'm here. It'll come after me. I need my weapon. That's the only thing that can kill it.
"Alhague, how do you like being human? We could take over Earth if we wanted. They have nothing here to stop us"

- Right. And I suppose you're an alien, too? Great, this is just great.
- The message we received was garbled and unintelligible, but what we did get indicated there might have been a spawning. That and the name of your father, Thomas Beck. We tried. But nothing more we could decipher from the message. The trail dead ends with him. I got here too late. I have to find the ones who came before me. Especially the one named Rautus. It butchered countless of my people. Who knows what it might have done here.
- Look, what exactly is it that you want with me?
- Your help. Well, I'm sorry about before. I did what I had to do. But I meant you no harm.
- Right. And I'd really like to help you.
- Good. Let's get started, then.
- No. You see, what you need is psychological help.
- You don't believe a word I said, do you?
- What's it like where you from?
- It's like nothing in your experience. Energy, light. No physical body, just being. We feel, we sense but not as you do. It's real, but not solid. We live in spirit, not in body.
- Like heaven?
- Like heaven... But not. A hunger within to feel, to touch, to breathe. My people, we've learned how to live with it. The others, they have not. They have evolved into the opposite, purely carnal physical evil. We and they, we are the same.
- So those things...
- Evolved from the same species. My kind can't stay here forever. We change. Some sooner, some later, but for all of us it's inevitable. If we stay we become like others purely physical.
- What the fuck? Sir, what are you doing? Buddy, I'm not an Uber, okay?
- Drive.
- Sir, my wife is in the hospital. She's about to give birth. Sir. This is a family emergency.
- I'm your family emergency now. Drive!
- Drive where?
- Drive! Great fucking night. You just watch the speed limit, obey the traffic signals we'll be alright.
- Where the fuck are we going?!
- For the devil may start to envy those who suffer too deeply and throw them out into Heaven.
- There's a very important man who is waiting for our arrival. Well, rather not for us as much as you. He's waiting for you. His associates were the ones who found you in the first place. I'm gonna tell you a story. Once upon a time, many years ago, there was a bookkeeper from Brooklyn who was living in South Boston, and the bookkeeper was working for a hard drinking Catholic named Jacob Sullivan. The bookkeeper's 9 to 5 back then was doing the books for one of Sullivan's associates. But the associate gets a little too fucking smart and starts skimming money on the side. So when Jacob Sullivan finds out, he tells the bookkeeper to invite the associate over. So the bookkeeper's wife and daughter visit her mother and the associate comes over. They have some drinks and once he's good and sloshed, a few of Sullivan's guys pay a little visit. One of them puts a .45 to the back of his skull, pulls the trigger. And the same thing is gonna happen to you when we get to Boulder City. I've been thinking about what you've given me so far this phony biography of yours, designed to garner sympathy. In my experience, most people tend to think having a family makes them more sympathetic. Before anyone takes a bullet to the head, they're always prattling on about their fucking family But the fact that you would do that strikes me as, tone deaf. You know, I do think about the way your life has gone, how you've got the secret fucking happiness.
- Who do you think I am?
- You're the witching hour. It's European folklore noting a particular time of night when all the supernatural creatures slither out and run amok. I always liked it. I liked the idea of crazy. I have decided that we should play a little game. It's called Stop the Phony. I want you to tell me the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth, so help you God, this very minute, right now. If you don't tell me the truth, I am gonna start killing.
- The truth is, I have no idea what you're talking about! I'm telling you, you got me confused with someone else. I don't know what to tell you. I'm not who you think I am!
- I never even told you who I think you are! So how could you know you're not who I think you are?!
- ... Back then we had these these white rabbits as pets. And they had babies, so we had a good sized litter, and my daughter, she liked to play with the babies. When I come back... the entire house was up in flames. It was glowing, all glowing orange. My wife and daughter inside. But it was the rabbits, James. Do you remember? Did you hear the rabbits screaming? Shrieking?
- I know I'm gonna die tonight. I understand. And you made a promise that I know you're going to keep.
- I keep my word.
- But I want you to know that I am David.
- You are so fucked in the head, James! You actually believe you're David!
- I need to know. Why didn't you just kill me the second you stepped into my car? Why let me breathe another second?
- 'Cause I wanted to hear you say it out loud. The words. And I wanted to see your true face. Your lizard face reawoke.
- I need you to know I never meant to kill your little girl. Your wife, when she saw my face, she just went crazy. She just jumped on me and started clawing my face off, and I pulled the trigger three times. And your daughter just lying in the hallway. I was drinking myself to death when God brought Maggie into my life. And I knew God was evening the score when our firstborn died. But still, every night, I'd see their faces. Your wife and your daughter. I couldn't stop seeing her. Then when God gave me my little baby boy, it was like he was giving me a new life. He was giving me back your daughter's life, the life that I wrongly took. I think you gave me closure tonight. I wish I could have done the same for you.
[It's coming down in great masses. Be grateful for its plentiful supply and for the good work we are doing. Soon, the hunger in the world will be a thing of the past. The Earth is giving off the food that will nourish all and guide us all to a new order of life]
- Seems you gotta eat enough before the Stuff takes control of your mind. Like anything else, some people are more susceptible than others.
- What the hell are they doing?
- That stuff comes right out of the center of the Earth. And straight into our supermarkets.
- Do you mean they don't process it or manufacture it at all?
- No, they siphon it right off and into the trucks. They control the whole damn area. They're all Stuffies.
[Ladies and gentlemen, this is a broadcast of warning. This is not fiction. This is not a dramatization. My fellow Americans. Tonight, America is in grave danger. We are under alien attack by a substance which represents itself as a popular dessert known as The Stuff. If The Stuff is in your house, do not eat it. Repeat, I mark you, do not eat it! If you are a merchant and have it on your shelves, do not sell it! If you have a distributorship and you distribute this material, close your doors, make no more sales. If a member of your family is dependent on this product, get them to a hospital. If you have this product in your home, cook it. I repeat, cook it]

- Looks to me like this guy Phillips was murdered. In fact the whole town knows it and nobody seems to care. Including their sheriff.
- Well of his murder you stay right there and prove it. Now get to work, talk to somebody.
- Talk to somebody? You want to come down here and try it. Talk to everybody in town, nobody said a word.
- Well stick with it Sam. Prove it's murder.
- If I do that'll cause the company an extra 20.000 bucks, it is a double indemnity clause.
- So what? When the newspaper finds out, we, the federal insurance company, spend money to pay double indemnity. We'll sell 10 million dollars worth of insurance.
- Before you came here, our town was like a quiet little heaven. There was never a hint of anything terrible like this. Now everybody's a murder suspect. Our lives will never be the same. Can you please drop the case?
- Don't you understand? It wouldn't make any difference whether I'd dropped it or not. Somehow, someway, someday, somebody else would pick it up and follow it through.
- Can't I make you see what you're doing?
- I think I do know what I'm doing.
- You know our jobs are a lot of like. Just set be a case of two people doing the same job in a different way. I'd like to tell you a story about that if you listen.
- Why?
- Well, it may help you to see things in a different light. This story is about a case I worked on once. Right in this town, fella was killed under circumstances a lot like the ones in the Phillips case. As a matter of fact, the man was a lot like Phillips. Anyway this a man was a mighty unpleasant individual. I'm putting it mildly when I say he was a blight on the whole community. They lived through a long time. I don't think there was a man, woman, or child in the whole community who wasn't hurt by this man at some time or another. And there was another man lived here too. Just the opposite. He loved the whole town and everybody in it. And he watched this man year after year gradually destroying the lives of everybody he loved, until he couldn't stand it any longer. And one night...
- I'm going insane, right? It can't be ghosts. I don't believe in ghosts. It has to be schizophrenia or something. After the accident, I moved to Mexico City, but I always felt like something was missing. Like if I'd left some unfinished businesses here in Monterrey. That's why I came back.
- You had a life in Monterrey. A job, friends. Your accident was here. That feeling that something is missing is real. And as long as you don't get back those years of your memory, you'll always feel incomplete. Possibly, going back to Monterrey had triggered something in your brain. Post traumatic stress disorders could bring along many things, Anxiety, intranquillity, panic attacks, hallucinations. The mind is a powerful thing, and it holds many secrets. But to unravel those secrets, we must follow the clues.
- What he says he sees. What he believes he sees in the house are not ghosts. They're memories. Unconsciously, he is rebuilding his life.
- Those taxi drivers deserved it. If they didn't, why were they killed?
- You just hate taxi drivers.
- No. They deserved it. How can you look at me like that? Do you think I'm the murderer?
- I wish you were. It would save me a lot of time.
- Have you found any clues?
"A taxi driver killed my wife and my baby. I'm not taking revenge. I just can't stand to let bad taxi drivers live. They deserve to be punished. I must kill those fucking taxi drivers"

- [Proximity alert] Megs. It's like they're being called. That's gotta be the apex predator.
- It's some instinctual gathering. They're here to mate. This is why She has been acting strangely.
- Oh, great. More megs.
- The scanner's detecting an abnormal structure. It's some kind of sea floor station. What could they be doing down here?
- Who would even have that technology?
- Guys? What's happening? I'm reading a thermocline breach. Something's ripped a giant hole in it. Dive 1, Dive 2. Do you copy? Dive 1, Jonas?
- It ain't good. Almost every system is down, and we're losing air fast. We'll get into the emergency dive suits and we're gonna need a ride up.
- Jonas. it's not gonna be possible. The battery array. It shorted out the control board in the rescue sub. We're investigating it now. Jonas, can you hear me? Jonas?
- We're gonna walk back across the trench. Make it into that sea floor station. And we're gonna get inside. And then we're gonna get to the surface.
- Those suits have two hours of air tops. They're only designed for brief extravehicular work. It's three kilometers. You'll be defenseless out there.
- What do you want from me? This is what we got, and this is what we're gonna do. Half our team is dead, and I'm not losing the other half.
- This feels unpleasantly familiar. I just hope it goes better than last time.
- What happened last time?
- You don't wanna know. We have to find a way to warn people. In case the megs move towards land. There's an island 60 klicks southeast of us. It's listed as inhabited.
- Inhabited by who?
- The name more or less translates to... Fun Island.
- We work the problems one by one.
- We do what's in front of us, then we do the next thing.

"Fatty's trip is to rape little girls. Preacher likes to set fire to churches. That's his trip. Unfortunately, he does it when there are people inside. The Bleeder likes to strangle people. I'm here 'cause I enjoy the social life. There are no crazy people, doctor. We are all just on vacation. We all kill when we must. And we all die when it's time"
- What's going on?
- Two men were killed. The auxiliary generator conked auxiliary out and the patients from the third floor Bleeder, Colonel, Preacher and Fatty just waltzed right outta here. All we know is they stole a car and they're wearing their hospital outfits.
- Alright, let's try to look at this thing rationally. They're obviously armed. They're completely unpredictable and we have to assume that they aren't going away until they accomplish whatever they've set out to do and under the circumstances, I would say that's obvious.
- Well, maybe somebody heard us scream and called the cops. And if someone tried to call us, they would discover that the lines were cut.
- Cut line is an open circuit. The phone will ring but there wouldn't be any answer.
- Shit! We've gotta get outta here.. Why is this happening? What do they want?
- It's me. I didn't even think of it. It's me these paranoid schizophrenics want.

- They laugh, they cry. But don't think it's your laughter or your tears. It isn't. Criminals are a different breed. Believe me, I know.
- Who are you? God? Didn't you ever make a mistake?
- Yes. When I was new on this job, we brought in two boys caught stealing from a car. They looked like babies. They cried. I let them go. Two nights later, one of them held up a butcher. Shot him through the head and killed him. Yes, I made a mistake, and I'm not going to make it again. When you're dealing with the criminal mind, softness is dangerous.
- But if it's a first offense..
- It's never a first offense, it's just the first time they get caught. Look, this is a war. We're your army. We're here to protect you. But you civilians are too lazy, or selfish or scared or just too indifferent to even want to appear in court and see the charges through that you, yourselves, bring. This is a criminal action. Are you or aren't you going through with it? Because I'm not going to let this criminal go. If I don't bring charges? Then I'll book him, anyway, and subpoena you into court. It's my duty to protect you, in spite of yourself.
- Detectives are like fingerprints, no two alike. McLeod's got his quirks. We all got them. He's a good man, though. He ain't on the take. I'll stand up for him on that. Got no tin boxes.
- I wasn't saying that he had.
- Then what was you saying? Maybe I fumbled it.
- You'll find out when it serves my client's interests. Lieutenant, I'm not free to discuss it with you.
- I'd love to discuss it with someone. Who do you suggest? Counselor.
- McLeod... Or his wife.
- His wife? What do you mean by that? What about her?
- You'll find out when it serves my client's interests, not before.
- I'm drowning, Drowning in my own juice. I know I'm different from the others. I'm here out of principle. All my life I've lived according to principle and I couldn't change, even if I wanted to.
- You've got to bend with the wind, or break. Don't be such a monument.
- How? How do you compromise? I hate softness. My mother was soft. It killed her. I don't believe in turning the other cheek. Now, right now, I'm faced with a problem of my own, that's ripping my guts out, and I can't compromise on that. ···I built my whole life on hating my father and all the time he was inside of me, laughing. Maybe he was crying. Poor devil, maybe he couldn't help himself, either.
- Boy, you're really hooked on water, aren't you? What do you do? For a living, I mean.
- Oh, I'm just visiting.
- Oh, a traveler! You know, mister, I don't think you get enough to eat. If you don't mind my saying so. I think you're too thin. I don't understand how you can watch all these TVs at the same time. You know, you're really a freak. I don't mean that unkindly. I like freaks. That's why I like you.
- ···The strange thing about television is that it doesn't tell you everything. It shows you everything about life on Earth but the true mysteries remain. Perhaps it's in the nature of television. Just waves in space.
- This is some kind of space vehicle, right? Well, what for? Is it a solar probe?
- I want you to think beyond that.
- Is this a weapon? Well, it's too small for interplanetary travel.
- You assume that it's a weapon? Does that matter to you? Don't be suspicious. I know people think me unnecessarily secretive.
- If I were you, I'd be secretive.
- ···I realize you've made certain assumptions about me. I can see the flash of an X-ray camera. It's blinding.
- Why'd you come here?
- Where I come from, there's a terrible drought. We saw pictures of your planet on television. We saw the water. In fact, our word for your planet means "planet of water."
- You watched it all on television? Where exactly do you come from?
- Well, I'm not an astronomer, but somewhere down there.
- Are you the first?
- The first what? Visitor? There have always been visitors. On my own planet we found evidence of visitors.
- What are you gonna do?
- You mean, what's in my mind?
- You don't want to go back. You've got everything here. Tell me one thing that you have on your planet that we don't have on ours. You don't have any money. You don't have any water. You don't have any grass. You don't have any booze. What do you want to go back to a desert for? If you want desert, we got deserts here. We got everything. All right. I know. Your wife and your family. But by the time you get back, they'll probably be dead. I mean, how long is it gonna take you to get back from here? How many years? Light years, or whatever you want to call 'em. All I'm trying to say, is that if you could just prove who you really are, you'd be free! Don't you understand? They don't understand you. They don't believe you. Believe me. They think you're one of us. They think you're a freak or a fake. I know you're not. All you have to do is just prove it to 'em. Let 'em see you as you really are. They'd probably let you go back. You could get into that little rocket ship of yours and go back!
- No, I don't want to. I've proved enough. I've proved everything I'm gonna prove. I've gone as far as I'm going.
[Since before recorded time it had swung through the universe in an elliptical orbit so large that its very existence remained a secret of time and space. But now, in the last few years of the 20th century, the visitor was returning. The citizens of Earth would get an extra Christmas present this year, as their planet orbited through the tail of the comet. Scientists predicted a light show of stellar proportions, something not seen on Earth for 65 million years. Indeed, not since the time that the dinosaurs disappeared, virtually overnight. There were a few who saw this as more than just a coincidence. But most didn't]
- You haven't seen those freaked out zombies runnin' around here?
- Yeah, I was jumped by one.
- Well, you got off lucky. Look, I know we got off on the wrong foot. But considering what the alternative is, I think we should try to get along, what do you say? Your little sister seems to be taking this a lot better than you.
- That's 'cause she doesn't know what's goin' on. Whatever's going on isn't just here, it's everywhere. She thinks we're gonna be rescued. Look, If we run into any more of those zombies outside, we're gonna need a more stopping power. Do you know where the Armed Forces Reserve Center is at Los Alamitos? My dad used to take us there for target practice. They store automatic weapons there.
- You know how to use 'em?
- Come on, Hector. The MAC-10 submachine gun was practically designed for housewives.
- I have to go to San Diego tomorrow. My mom and sister live there.
- But you know they're gone.
- I know, but I still have to find out. But I'll be back.
- Did you have like, a close family?
- Yeah. Pretty close. You?
- No, not really. My real mom hung around till my dad came back from Viet Nam and then she split. So, it's been mostly me and my sister. And Dad and Third Special Forces. But, then around about sixth or seventh grade, it became real obvious that we weren't boys and we were never gonna go to ranger school. So, I guess Dad figured there was nothing more to offer us. So, he found us a new mom. Went off looking for a war.
- Well, if they'll stay put, we can get them.
- I'd just like to say up front, I'm opposed to this. There's no reason for us to bring those people or any other survivors back here.
- What about the disintegration factor? You just want to let that happen?
- We don't know that the condition is progressive.
- I think that we established that. Partial protection seems to result in a slowing of the overall effect. But progression is steady in any case. Drying of the body fluids. Ultimately, there is nothing left but calcium dust. I've talked with some of the others and we decided that it would be more beneficial to conduct the blood tests in the field. So, I want you to go to L.A. with the rest of the group. You don't seem to hold majority rule in very high regard.
- If something's wrong, it's wrong. Majority rule doesn't have anything to do with it.

- Is it true what I hear? That you're working again. What are you up to?
- I'll only answer with my lawyer present.
- And how's the gambling?
- Never been so lucky.
- That's not what I hear. Informers tell us everything.
- No honour among thieves any more. It's a disgrace!
- I heard you're totally skint. I hope you're not planning to...
- Guess how much there was in safe last year, before the Grand Prix... Eight hundred million.
- Eight hundred million? The job of my life. What if we set it up?
- You mean Deauville casino? You're mad! No one's ever... Thought about it.
- Well, I am! I reckon it's doable. It just needs setting up, that's all.
- Are you serious? Do you have any idea? You realise how hard it'll be? All the people, the cops, the safe to break into.
- Do I look like I'm joking?
"We've all done jobs in the past. But little ones, without any preparation. This is going to be different. We have to operate like a commando group. I'll already be there, upstairs with the gamblers, keeping a lookout on everything. If something smells fishy, I'll come and tell you, and we'll put it off. If you don't see me at 5 a.m. sharp, then we're on!"

- We set up two robberies. We do it on the night before the Grand Prix. Every thief around here has been waiting for years to pull that one off. So I set it up, finally. I know they're watching me. They know I'm down on my luck. On the night before the Grand Prix, I'm in the casino with you and Paulo. We pose as gamblers. We get an inside contact there. We get the make of the safe, the setup, as complete as it can be. But Roger has every cop, every piece of security in the place watching me. So what do I do? What would you do?
- I'd call it off.
- Exactly. I'd call it off. But at 5:00 in the morning. In the meanwhile, we have a crew in the villa where the real heist takes place. And they've had six, maybe seven uninterrupted hours to secure those paintings. It's like those paintings. We've got a real heist, and a fake. With the inner complication that we want to be betrayed. Now, let's face it. We generally are. There's always someone turning snitch. This time we welcome the rat, and I let Roger stay glued to my ass like a bad hemorrhoid I can't get rid of.
- Have you heard the story of the Good Thief, Roger?
- No. I'm not religious.
- No. Neither am I. But when my mother told it, I guess it stuck. The Good Thief beside Jesus on the cross and Jesus said to him, if I remember this right "Tonight you will be with me in paradise." And the thought that there was a place in heaven for a thief always made me cry.
- You want to make me cry now?
- You gotta watch this cynicism, Roger. It's too easy in that job of yours.
- I'll work on my attitude. Bob. You saved my life, but if you try something...
- Try what?
- Do I have to spell it out? I'll put you down for life.
- You're a cop. That's what you do.
- What are you?
- I was good at thieving once, Roger, and I may not be the Good Thief yet but I am trying believe me, I am trying. Would you drive me, Roger? I have a meeting. I'm attending Narcotics Anonymous. You're welcome to join me. You should support me in my battle against my addictions.
- Your addictions being...
- Gambling and narcotics. You know, every addict, Roger, has an enabler. The one who, through no fault of their own, maintains the addict in their habit. Often needs the addict in their habit.
- Let me guess. Your enabler is...
- Is you. We're codependents, Roger. We have been for years. I mean, look at you, now. You're chasin' me, because you imagine that I'm chasin' a big score. And maybe the cure starts with you.
- The cure?
- Yeah, because deep down you want me to try that big one if only to see how I'd do it.
- Do you know the first thing to learn about gambling?
- What?
- Clothes. He or she should always look their best. And do you know the second thing?
- Tell me.
- Gambling and dope don't mix.
- The third?
- Always play the game to the limit. Damn the consequences. You're gonna see fake glamor serious money, and a lot of bad plastic surgery. But remember, the dice falls the same for all of them. That's lesson number four, five and six. Lesson number seven. Displays of emotion are kept to a minimum. Lesson number eight. Never tempt fate. Lesson number nine. Always tip.

- Are you familiar with the concept of hypnotic constructs? Hypnotics have abilities far beyond anything we have a name for.
- "Hypnotics"?
- People with the ability to actually influence the brain over a psychic bandwidth.
- Like telepathy?
- Telepaths just read the mind. Hypnotics reshape its reality. The guy at the bank, you said he spoke four words to a woman and she undressed. Those were cues sound, voice, locking eyes. Hypnotics use them to make you see a version of the world that doesn't exist. Your behavior conforms with this hypnotic construct, so everything that you see and do feels perfectly normal. A construct makes you see what the hypnotic wants you to see. It can look like anything. It's whatever makes you do the behavior they want.
- Project Domino was never a what. It was a who. Where is she? Is she even alive? Where did you take her?
- We didn't take her. You did. You kidnapped her. You brought this on yourself. By the time we found you, Domino was gone and you reset yourself. Wiped clean. No memory of where you hid her for four years. You've been an obstacle to me for too long. This photo was dropped off at Division headquarters six weeks ago. A clue or a taunt. You know what it means. Buried underneath that psychic block. That's why we developed this construct. The cop searching for the man who took his missing daughter.
- Using my own brain against me.
- To get you to remember where you hid her. Like it or not, your daughter is going to reach her full potential with the Division. Who is Lev Dellrayne? This is where it always ends. We can't brute force a mind like yours. This was our 12th run of the scenario. But every time we get too close, you see the gaps, and the construct breaks.
- You had 12 runs at this and you haven't found her? Well, get ready for number 13.
"When she was born, we prayed she wouldn't be like us. That she would be normal. But soon, we understood that the daughter of two powerful hypnotics would have an extraordinary gift. It would help the world explore the untapped abilities of the human mind. The Division realized that her power could transform society not to unlock human potential, but to force people to do what they were told or else. They wanted her to be their weapon. We wanted our daughter to be free, but we knew we could never outrun the Division. They would never let us go. The only way to escape any of them was to bring them all together, and destroy the Division completely. But we couldn't take them on ourselves. She wasn't ready yet. That's why we had to wait. Three years, Then she'd be strong enough. That's when she'd send the trigger. Tip the first domino. And we knew the only way to keep our plan from the Division was to erase our own memories. We reset ourselves and believed we loved each other so much, we would find each other again. She and I, we're your most stubborn memories"

"They're misdirecting this missing case as a suicide case. He's not a person who would commit suicide. Your son was a honest Police officer. I did warn him not to dig in deep. As our department may have a link to the idol smuggling case. You're well aware of the department, sir. They'll keep silent despite knowing the truth. I'm speaking out of experience. We never recovered even the corpses of officers who went looking for smuggled idols. It's hurting to say this. I think your son is dead, sir"
- I won't kill you. If I kill you your men will kill me. I'm now well aware of it. Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. No Policeman mentioned that you have such a deadly flashback. Your son is alive because he's a Policeman. I knew I could use it at a later point. But never did I dream that he would save my life. It's God's grace! If I give you back your son the next second, you'll kill me. I am aware that you have a wide network of contacts throughout India. Sir, I've been in this business for forty years. Since childhood, I have a desire. It's not just a small desire, but a big one. Over an item. That's my life's target. There's a popular temple in Andhra. During the 16th century, Chhatrapati Shivaji gifted a crown to the deity in the temple. During the 18th century, even the Britishers could not take it. Because it's a high value antique piece. I want that crown. Bring me the crown and take your son.
- It's a sin to steal a temple's property. You will be destroyed! Ask for something else.
- Sir, I don't like sentiments. I only want the crown! I'm not in a hurry, sir. Take your time. You will get your son. And I will get my crown. That's the deal! Sir, your son will be unharmed. I guarantee! But one condition. Two of my men will be with you 24/7. To keep a tab on you and your activities.
"If the children turn evil, their parents' lives turn into hell. Son! Do you have anything you'd like to tell me?"
