its a small amount they pay.. not even a countable amount.. so its kinda useless

I thinks its 2 cents per airplay right ? so, over time it amounts to a significant amount.
However , more than the amount of money, its the principle that matters.
If the laws are such that even private channels must pay for the artists, then the artists can make a living out of it and in turn it builds up the industry as well.

ya... but i dont think a country like sri lanka and a media's will agree to pay lots.. coz sri lankan media is earning money from Artists. they are not helping the artists. other reason is Sri lanka Promotions are so different than the other countries. Artists should go to Media and give their material but in other Countries. media is begging for artist materials and they go and get them. see the Difference

Sirasa Fm didnt start such a program it was there from the 1st Media.. SLBC still doing it. but its really a small amount of money..

ill give a small example

Nethra - BnS song played for 640 times in 2006 and BnS earned Rs. 1280 . so for 1 air play they earned Rs. 2. so do you think 1200+ is enough.. ( the Amounts are not fully confirmed. but as far as i know its Rs. 2 and it was air played more than 600 times on that year) so that mean every day the song has air played 2 times.
