Prandelli names eight uncapped players for England friendly
Italy has named eight uncapped players in their 23-man squad to face England on Wednesday night.
Cesare Prandelli has omitted all Juventus and Napoli players as a result of their Supercoppa Italiana commitments, as he looks to give experience to some of the fringe and younger players in the Azzurri set-up.
Pescara goalkeeper Mattia Perin is among the new faces in the national side, along with 28 year-old Atalanta defender Federico Peluso.
Wing back Mattia De Sciglio has also been called up and he is joined by AC Milan teammates Francesco Aberci and Stephan El Shaarawy.Midfielder Andrea Poli will be keen to impress in the absence of Andrea Pirlo, while winger Ezequiel Schelotto has been rewarded with international honours, along with forward pair Mattia Destro and Manolo Gabbiadini.
Antonio Cassano is a surprise exclusion from the Azzurri line-up as Italy look to put their Euro 2012 final defeat to Spain behind them.
