For me the case of Barca is like the Indian Team..LOVED BY THEIR FANS BUT HATED BY MANY OTHER TEAMS......Just like the Indian Cricket team...

    Bale wins Football Writers' award

    garethbalecelebrates_576x324.jpg

Tottenham Hotspur forward Gareth Bale has been named the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year.

Last week, Bale, 23, won the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year award and the Young Player of the Year for the 2012-13 season.
And the Wales international's excellent season has been further rewarded by being voted the 2013 Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers' Association.

He acquired 53% of the votes, narrowly edging out Manchester United's Robin van Persie who received 43%, with Juan Mata coming third.Bale, who has scored 24 goals in all competitions this season, said: "It is a huge honour to receive the Footballer of the Year award from the Football Writers' Association.

"It means a lot to win this award when you consider the number of players that have been outstanding for their clubs in the Barclays Premier League this season."I have been very fortunate to be playing in such a fantastic team and I owe a lot to my team-mates and, obviously, the manager who has shown such faith in me.

"This award has been won in the past by some of the greatest names in football and I consider it a privilege that the FWA has selected me to be named alongside them.''Bale becomes Spurs' first winner of the FWA award since David Ginola in 1999, and the first Wales international to be selected for English football's oldest individual trophy since Everton's Neville Southall in 1985.

He is also the first player to win the FWA and both PFA awards since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2007.

:angry::angry:Manchester United vice-chairman Ed Woodward: No major overhaul of squad

    sir-alex-ferguson_2934461.jpg

Manchester United's vice-chairman does not expect a "major retooling" of the Premier League champions' squad this summer.

United have announced record turnover results for the financial year's third quarter, and the balance sheet does not include the recent deal with AON for naming rights to the club's training ground. In the wake of last week's Premier League title success Sir Alex Ferguson said he had spent "three or four months" identifying possible summer targets.

But executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is predicting a quiet close season at Old Trafford. He said: "I wouldn't expect there to be a major retooling of the squad. "There is incredible depth. We could put two first teams out with 11 internationals in each.

"It has been a phenomenal season. We are a long way ahead in the Premier League and whilst I wouldn't describe the way we got knocked out of the Champions League as luck things could have gone differently in that game.
"We have a young squad and each of those are a year older. We are very comfortable with make up of team and squad."

    :growl::angry:United CEO: No overhaul needed

    edwoodwardmanunited_576x324.jpg

New Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward has played down the chances of a summer spending spree at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson has previously spoken about his desire to add two players to his squad with Radamel Falcao, Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo all reportedly on United’s radar. And Woodward has agreed with the United manager, highlighting the strength in depth the Premier League champions have available to them.

"I wouldn't expect there to be a major retooling of the squad," Woodward said. "There is incredible depth. We could put two first teams out with 11 internationals in each. Jose Mourinho wants Falaco at Chelsea

    JOSE-620_1716858a.jpg

JOSE MOURINHO wants to take £53million Atletico Madrid superstar Radamel Falcao with him to Chelsea this summer.

As exclusively revealed in SunSport, the Real Madrid boss is desperate to return to his old job at Stamford Bridge.

And now we can reveal Mourinho has chosen Colombian ace Falcao to join his second coming. Falcao has a £53m buy-out clause and the Blues will take advantage of the ‘non-aggression pact’ that exists between Atletico and Real Madrid to swoop for the hitman.

Mourinho is a huge admirer of Falcao and, if he thrashes out a deal with Blues owner Roman Abramovich, he will be given the cash to make Chelsea champions again. The Special One’s return to the Bridge has gone through many twists.

But the two sides are reaching common ground on his wages and transfer targets.
Agent Jorge Mendes represents both Falcao and Mourinho — and that should smooth out a deal, provided the Special One’s return is confirmed at the end of the season.

Higuain exit could trigger Madrid move for Hernandez

    gonzalohiguainceleb20130403_576x324.jpg

Real Madrid general manager Jose Angel Sanchez has confirmed in L'Equipe Gonzalo Higuain will leave the club this summer - and the sale could spark potential moves for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez and Tottenham winger Gareth Bale.

Higuain, 25, has competed with Karim Benzema for the lone striker's role at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu with relative success. The Argentina international has scored 14 goals this season but played second fiddle to Benzema on most occasions. The article also reports that Higuain's exit will lead to Benzema continuing with Real.

"In a great club like Real, we believe we need two number nines of a high level," Sanchez said. "We have Benzema and Higuain. Higuain will leave, Benzema will stay and two others will come."

Sanchez's claim that Higuain will exit has led to fresh speculation Hernandez could be targeted by the Spanish side. The Mexican admitted in April he was becoming frustrated with being a regular substitute at Old Trafford. Manchester City's Sergio Aguero and Bale are also reportedly under consideration.

Higuain joined Real from River Plate in 2007 and has previously been linked with moves to Chelsea, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester United post record revenues and reduce debts

    article-2318368-199779DF000005DC-229_634x453.jpg

Fresh from winning a record-extending 20th English title, Manchester United showed they are successful off the pitch as well by posting record revenues while reducing its debts.

The club announced on Thursday it is on course to generate more than £350 million ($545m) this season after earning a record £91.7m ($143m) in the three months to March 31.

But the title triumph has come at a price, with the wage bill rising 25% year-on-year to £44.9m ($70m) in the third quarter. Wages have risen due to the impact of new signings - including Robin van Persie and Shinji Kagawa - renegotiated contracts and the growth of United's commercial team, which also has a base in Hong Kong. The club, which is owned by the American Glazer family, has reduced its debt to £367.6m ($572m) - a drop of 16% in nine months.

Net profit more than trebled year-on-year to £3.6m ($5.6m) in the third quarter.
Red Devils executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward said: "Each of our three primary sectors - commercial, broadcasting and matchday - delivered strong top-line gains and helped us achieve a record third quarter for both revenue and adjusted EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization). United's powerful commercial arm made a massive contribution to the results."

A rise of 31.9% on the corresponding three months last year means overall commercial income has gone up by 27.9% to ($178.3m) over the full nine-month period. The broadcast and matchday sectors show a 21.7% and 34% increase on the corresponding three months respectively.

However, total operating expenses for the third quarter increased 18.6% year-on-year to £79m ($123m).

Guardiola: My time at Barcelona is over

    247007hp2.jpg

The incoming Bayern Munich manager says he is proud to have worked at Camp Nou as both player and coach but insists that chapter of his life has ended.
Pep Guardiola has paid tribute to the players he worked with during his time with Barcelona, but he has stressed that now is the time to look to the future.

The 42-year-old Guardiola left Camp Nou at the end of last season and has spent the current campaign on sabbatical leave as he prepares to take over at Bayern Munich this summer. Guardiola has expressed his pride in the working relationship he enjoyed with the Blaugrana as both player and coach, but he insists the chapter of his life at the club must be considered closed.

"My time at Barcelona is over. One is born, grows, and becomes older," Guardiola said, speaking on an official visit to Buenos Aires. "When you make the decision to leave a club, it's better than when it's taken for you. I was happy at Barcelona.

"I had a wonderful relationship with those with whom I worked. The players I had love what they do. They never lost the passion they had when they were children.

"At Barca, things went well because the amateurs I knew became professionals. You are where you are because you win in big teams. Otherwise, you get a kick."

Guardiola refused to be drawn on commenting on his new side, however, simply stating: "It would be wrong to talk of Bayern. When I am there, I will start to talk about them."

Finally, the former Spain international tipped La Roja as favorites to lift the World Cup in 2014, but warned of three sides who could make the defense of their crown difficult.

"Spain is the favorite to win the World Cup. Germany, Brazil and Argentina are also candidates," Guardiola said.

Liverpool captain Gerrard expects Suarez to stay at Anfield next season

    256121hp2.jpg

The England skipper believes the Uruguayan will be "desperate to atone" for the 10-match ban handed to him for biting Branislav Ivanovic, and does not think he will leave the club Steven Gerrard says he expects his Liverpool teammate Luis Suarez to stay at the club this summer, and that the Uruguayan will want to make up for his 10-match ban next season.

The 26-year-old is currently serving his suspension for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic in April and will not return to first-team action for the Reds until late September at the earliest.

Goal.com revealed that that Liverpool would be willing to offload the striker if it receives a bid around the 47 million euro mark from a foreign club, but Gerrard believes he will stay put and come back stronger.

"I don't think that what's happened to Luis will affect him much in terms of his future," Gerrard told the Liverpool Daily Post.

"Maybe one day we will have to accept that Luis wants to move on, and that will be his decision.

"But I don't see any signs of it at the moment. Luis has been really happy here at Liverpool and he seems settled here.

"I don't see him wanting to leave right now."

Gerrard also says that Suarez accepting his ban was the correct decision, and that the striker will want to atone for his mistakes next season.

"Luis has done the right thing by apologizing and taking his medicine," Gerrard added.

"He's really unhappy he can't help the team, and he was really down when the ban came through. But once he is back from his ban we will be the ones that benefit.

"Luis will want to make it up to the club and the team that he has been out for so long. He will be desperate to atone for that."

Mourinho return to Chelsea would be spectacular, says Villas-Boas

    135483hp2.jpg

The Tottenham manager is in favor of his compatriot coming back to Stamford Bridge, with the Real Madrid coach expected to leave the Santiago Bernabeu
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has admitted a potential return of Jose Mourinho to Chelsea and the Premier League would be "spectacular".

The former Blues boss is expected to end his time in Spain with Real Madrid this summer and said following the club's Champions League exit that he might not return next season, stating that he wants to go where he "feels loved".

With Rafa Benitez's short-term contract in west London due to expire in the summer, all is in place for Mourinho to return - and Villas-Boas is expecting him to do so.

Villas-Boas told reporters: "He obviously wants to come back to England, whether he has a club aligned or not, we never know.

"It's extremely unlikely when someone makes it that public that something is not set out already but he is a great addition to the Premier League. He has a wonderful history in this league and I think it will be spectacular to have him back."

The current Spurs boss worked under Mourinho during the 50-year-old’s time at Porto, Chelsea and Inter, and believes his former boss' failure to win the Champions League in Madrid will be seen as an underachievement.

"When he left [England] he wasn't that well loved by a few of you guys [the media] and that was something we talked about.

"He was loved in all the clubs where he has won titles, in Real Madrid the same.

"There is maximum respect for what he has achieved, but for it to be at the level of Real Madrid's expectancy, we will never know. Probably not, but he certainly has won a league against a dream Barcelona team, which is a great achievement."
