    :love::love::love:Januzaj Pens Five-Year United Deal

    adnanjanuzajcelebmanutdvsunderland20131005_576x324.jpg

Adnan Januzaj has committed his future to Manchester United by signing a new five-year contract with the club.

The deal will keep the midfielder, who recently scored twice on his full Premier League debut at Sunderland, at Old Trafford until June 2018."It's a great thrill to be able to sign for Manchester United," Januzaj told the club's official website. "Since arriving here I have always felt like this was the right club for me.

"This season has been great for me -- going on the pre-season tour, making my debut in the Community Shield win at Wembley and then breaking into the team at Sunderland - it's like a dream. I want to work hard now and establish myself as a Manchester United player."

United manager David Moyes expressed his delight over the news, saying he had been impressed by the youngster since taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson in the summer."I'm delighted that Adnan has committed his future to United," Moyes said. "He is an outstanding talent and has impressed me consistently since I came to United in July.

"His balance, poise and ability to beat players is truly exceptional for a boy of his age. It's great that he recognises that this club, with its tradition for developing young players and giving them a chance on the biggest stage, is the best place for him to be."

Stoke City 0-0 West Brom: Dire draw sees Potters' winless run continue

    330089hp2.jpg

West Brom earned a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Stoke City on Saturday to set a new club record unbeaten streak in the Premier League.

The Midlands side had the lion's share of the chances at the Britannia Stadium but after being unable to break the deadlock, they picked up a point that sees them extend their undefeated run to five top-flight matches.

The home side will also be happy with a result that sees them end a run of three straight league losses that has left them languishing towards the bottom of the table.

Stoke manager Mark Hughes opted to make three changes from the side that lost 1-0 to Fulham before the international break, with a double switch in the middle seeing Charlie Adam and Oussama Assaidi drafted in.

But while that reshuffle appeared to be tactical, Hughes had less choice in handing Andy Wilkinson his first league start of the season, with in-form defender Geoff Cameron struggling with a calf injury.

His counterpart, Steve Clarke, maintained continuity from the 1-1 draw with Arsenal, with the only change seeing striker Nicolas Anelka replaced by Victor Anichebe, who returned from a groin injury.

It was the visitors who got off to the better start too, with Stephane Sessegnon seeing his shot sail over the crossbar in the ninth minute shortly before he went one-on-one with Asmir Begovic, only to see the goalkeeper deny him with a fine save.

Hughes' men soon worked their way back into the game, and their best chance came just before the break when a clever free-kick was met by Stephen Ireland, with Boaz Myhill doing well to get down low to his effort.

The visitors came out more brightly at the start of the second half, and their emphatic penalty appeals were waved away in the 59th minute by referee Howard Webb when Saido Berahino's heel appeared to be caught by Adam.

The incident did little to disrupt Stoke, however, who again went close through Ireland soon afterwards, only to see that effort fly over the crossbar.

Adam then challenged Myhill with a long-range effort.

Despite that pressure, Stoke could not find the back of the net, though, meaning that Hughes must wait a little longer for his first win in the league since the end of August.

And it could even have been defeat as West Brom pressed for a winner late on, with their best chance seeing Sessegnon go one-on-one with Begovic only to see the goalkeeper tip his effort wide.

Chelsea 4-1 Cardiff City: Hazard bags double as Blues bounce back from behind

    330112hp2.jpg

Samuel Eto'o scored his first Premier League goal as Chelsea came from behind to defeat Cardiff City 4-1 at Stamford Bridge.

The 32-year-old striker - who joined Chelsea on a free transfer from Anzhi Makhachkala in August - had failed to score in his four previous league appearances but picked an ideal time to break his duck on Saturday.

Jordon Mutch made the most of poor defending from David Luiz to put Cardiff in front after 10 minutes before Eden Hazard levelled in bizarre circumstances.

Eto'o put Chelsea in front in the 66th minute and his strike eased the tension, with Oscar and Hazard putting gloss on the win - that lifted them to second on the Premier League table - with late goals to the delight of manager Jose Mourinho, who was sent to the stands for dissent.

Chelsea made four changes from the side that beat Norwich City 3-1 earlier this month, with Willian given his first start for the club, while Ryan Bertrand replaced the injured Ashley Cole at left-back.

Mutch was one of Cardiff's two inclusions and he made an immediate impact, firing Malky Mackay's side in front in the 10th minute after he pounced on a defensive error from Luiz.

The Brazilian left an errant Ramires ball alone, allowing Mutch to steal in and dink over the onrushing Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech.

The hosts responded quickly as John Terry went close twice, but they were given another scare when Peter Odemwingie's flicked header forced Cech into an outstanding save.

The home crowd were growing restless before Hazard scored a controversial goal to level proceedings.

Cardiff goalkeeper David Marshall was caught napping while bouncing the ball in preparation for a goal-kick, and Eto'o nipped in to knock the ball towards Hazard.

The Belgian returned the ball to Eto'o but as a desperate Cardiff scrambled, he was unable to get his shot away, only for Hazard to curl in from close range.

The goal should not have stood and it was perhaps more than Chelsea deserved, but Luiz, Hazard and Frank Lampard all had efforts as they finished the half strongly.

Cardiff started the second half well, but they failed to create clear-cut chances, and only excellent defending from Andrew Taylor denied Hazard at the other end.

Chelsea did take the lead in the 66th minute though, when Hazard fed Eto'o, who produced a superb finish.

The striker showed quick feet to beat Steven Caulker before firing past Marshall at the near post.

Fernando Torres had a good effort blocked as Chelsea searched for a third but they were kept on their toes at the other end, with Cech forced into a good save to deny Kim Bo-Kyung.

Oscar did seal the result with 12 minutes to play, thrashing an effort past Marshall from 20 yards that cannoned in off the underside of the post, before Hazard added a fourth from a tight angle.

Arsenal 4-1 Norwich: Wilshere gets Gunners rolling with wonder goal

    330097hp2.jpg

Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League with a 4-1 win against Norwich City on Saturday.

The Gunners went into the game knowing that a win would see them open up a two-point lead over Liverpool at the top of the table and they did not waste their opportunity, producing a superb performance to claim the win.

Jack Wilshere and Mesut Ozil put Arsenal in control before Jonny Howson pulled one back for the visitors.

However, Arsene Wenger's men were not to be denied as an Aaron Ramsey strike and a second from Ozil sealed victory.

German playmaker Ozil was included in the starting XI for Arsenal after recovering from a knee problem suffered on international duty, while Norwich were without striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel because of a toe injury.

Arsenal struggled to break through a determined Norwich defence early on, Santi Cazorla's weak effort their only opportunity of the opening exchanges.

However, after 18 minutes the deadlock was broken in magnificent fashion as Wilshere tapped home to finish off a wonderful move involving Cazorla, Wilshere and Olivier Giroud, whose improvised flick-on from the edge of the area sent the England international through on goal.

It took a further 18 minutes for Arsenal to create their next clear-cut chance, Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy displaying excellent reflexes to prevent Giroud from doubling the lead from close range.

The hosts suffered a blow eight minutes before half-time as Mathieu Flamini was replaced by Ramsey following an earlier collision with Alexander Tettey.

And Arsenal's grip on the game looked to be in danger in the closing stages of the first half, with Robert Snodgrass and Leroy Fer both drawing strong saves from Wojciech Szczesny.

Norwich continued to press forward after the interval as Snodgrass and Martin Olsson tested Szczesny with long-range drives.

But their hopes of taking something from the game were severely dented when Ozil put Arsenal in control just before the hour mark.

Giroud was again the creator, his perfectly-placed cross finding Ozil, who rounded off a superb counterattack with a fine header into the bottom corner.

Chris Hughton's men did not lack ambition, though, and they found a way back into the game when Howson drilled home a powerful low effort from 18-yards after 70 minutes when he capitalised on poor defensive work from Per Mertesacker.

Substitute Nicklas Bendtner then went close as Arsenal looked to finally kill the game off and victory was confirmed when Ramsey wrapped things up with an excellent goal.

The Wales international showed great agility to net his fifth Premier League goal of the season, slamming the ball past Ruddy from inside the six-yard box after weaving his way past two Norwich defenders.

Arsenal did not stop at three, though, and they put the gloss on a fine win with two minutes left when Ozil finished off another excellent move involving Tomas Rosicky and Ramsey.

Swansea City 4-0 Sunderland: Poyet’s reign begins with crushing defeat

    330135hp2.jpg

Gus Poyet's first game in charge of Sunderland ended in defeat as Swansea City won 4-0 at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

The visitors had turned in a disciplined defensive display in the opening 45 minutes but a Phil Bardsley own goal was swiftly followed by a superb Jonathan de Guzman finish and a Wilfried Bony spot-kick after the break.

Chico Flores headed home a fourth to give Swansea their first win over Sunderland since 1982 and a first at home since March, leaving Poyet’s men rooted to the bottom of the Premier League.

The hosts were without captain Ashley Williams, who remains sidelined with an ankle injury - but Ben Davies recovered from a hamstring problem in time to make the starting line-up.

Boss Michael Laudrup made two changes to the side that lost 2-0 at Southampton a fortnight ago, with De Guzman and Leon Britton coming in for Jonjo Shelvey and Jose Canas.

Poyet, meanwhile, brought Bardsley, Sebastian Larsson and Steven Fletcher – returning from a shoulder injury - in for Jack Colback, Jozy Altidore and loanee Ki Sung-Yueng, who was unavailable for selection against his parent club.

And Bardsley – making his first-team return after a controversial period in the wilderness under former manager Paolo Di Canio – made an early impression as he was booked for a reckless challenge on Nathan Dyer.

But Sunderland were soon making more positive moves as Fletcher fired a left-footed strike narrowly wide from an Adam Johnson corner within the opening 15 minutes.

With Swansea struggling to find their stride, the visitors continued to press as Larsson hooked a seemingly lost cause into the penalty area from a tight angle, only to see goalkeeper Michel Vorm beat Fletcher to the cross.

The hosts had to wait until just after the half-hour mark for a shot at goal but De Guzman sent his 25-yard free-kick beyond the right-hand post as an even first half ended goalless.

Bardsley then had a chance to mark his return with a goal shortly after the break but he scooped his effort over the crossbar from six yards after a cross from the right.

However, Swansea soon began to find the flow that had eluded them in the first half and, after decent chances for both Dyer and Bony, they broke the deadlock in the 55th minute as Bardsley diverted the ball into his own net from a corner - the Swans' 100th goal in the Premier League.

Laudrup's side then doubled their lead within a minute as De Guzman got a sight of goal from 20 yards and curled a wonderful effort into the top right-hand corner of the net.

And they were three up six minutes later. Craig Gardner brought down Britton just inside the penalty area, allowing Bony the chance to send the ball beyond Keiren Westwood from the spot.

Chico Flores completed the rout in the 80th minute as he met a corner to head past Westwood via a Fletcher deflection. A miserable opening day for Poyet was complete.

Real Madrid 2-0 Malaga: Di Maria & Ronaldo seal Blancos victory

    330129hp2.jpg

Second-half goals from Angel Di Maria and Cristiano Ronaldo gave Real Madrid a 2-0 victory over Malaga on Saturday, ensuring they keep pace with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid at the top of La Liga.

The Blancos dominated most of the match, and although Ronaldo missed a host of chances he secured the win in second-half stoppage-time as he buried a penalty after Di Maria scored their opener.

Carlo Ancelotti brought in Alvaro Morata and Pepe among five changes to his side, while Gareth Bale was named on the bench after a spell out with a thigh injury.

Malaga also made five alterations from their defeat to Osasuna before the international break, with coach Bernd Schuster receiving a boost as club captain Weligton was able to make his first start of the season following a collarbone problem.

Unsurprisingly, the hosts were the dominant force throughout the first half, but they struggled to find the finishing touch despite creating several good opportunities.

Ronaldo went close twice in the opening 20 minutes as he first struck the crossbar after cutting into the area from the left, and then stroked wide of the goal when one-on-one with Willy Caballero.

Caballero was Malaga's saviour with just under 10 minutes left of the first half as Morata connected with Marcelo's left-wing cross, only for the Argentine goalkeeper to stick out an arm to keep the score level.

Real may have wasted numerous chances in the first period, but their luck changed less than a minute after half-time as they took the lead in fortuitous fashion.

Di Maria cut in from the right and curled a cross into the danger area from a deep position, but Ronaldo could not reach it and the ball bounced past the static Caballero to break the deadlock.

Real continued to carve out chances despite Malaga's resolute defence, and Ronaldo almost got on the end of a corner after Caballero had parried his attempted cross wide.

And Caballero again frustrated Ronaldo with 17 minutes remaining as he saved an excellent free-kick from the Portuguese.

Bale then entered the fray a few moments later before making a telling contribution.

Ronaldo missed two more chances late on but, after Bale was tripped by Weligton in the area, the former Manchester United man stepped up and fired past Caballero to secure the three points.

Bayern Munich 4-1 Mainz: Muller stars in second-half Bavarian barrage

    330103hp2.jpg

Bayern Munich barraged Mainz with second-half goals to fightback from going behind to win 4-1 on Saturday.

The European champions' 33-game unbeaten run in the Bundesliga looked to be under threat when Shawn Parker gave Mainz a shock half-time lead.

But coach Pep Guardiola brought on midfielder Mario Gotze at half-time and the Germany international and Thomas Muller inspired the sid to a second-half fightback.

Gotze laid on goals for Arjen Robben and Mario Mandzukic, and Muller scored twice to ensure Bayern are now just two games away from levelling the Bundesliga's longest unbeaten run, held by Hamburg.

Bayern wingers Franck Ribery and Xherdan Shaqiri missed the match through ankle and hamstring injuries, while defender David Alaba dropped to the bench.
Robben, Mandzukic and Diego Contento came into Bayern's side, while Mainz made six changes to the team that drew with Hoffenheim before the international break, with goalkeeper Christian Wetklo the headline inclusion.Mainz came into the match without a win in their last five, but they set about frustrating Bayern and showed some attacking threat, with Johannes Geis firing over the bar with his left foot in the 12th minute.

Bayern lost Brazil defender Dante to injury with half-time looming and they were stunned moments later, falling behind after Parker capitalised on a Jerome Boateng error.

The defender missed Julian Baumgartlinger's routine ball through the middle and Parker raced clear, rounding Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer before slotting into an empty net.Gotze entered the fray at the break in place of Rafinha and that proved to be an inspired move as the midfielder made an instant impact.

The former Borussia Dortmund man cut open the Mainz defence with a through ball to Robben just four minutes after the break and the Holland winger equalised with a measured left-foot finish inside the near post.

And Bayern were in front just two minutes later, with Robben turning provider on this occasion.Robben laid the ball off to Muller and the Germany forward kept his composure, slotting past Wetklo from the centre of the penalty area.

Mainz were struggling to live with Guardiola's men and the home side gave themselves breathing space in the 69th minute, with Gotze the architect once again.
Gotze got to the byline and cut back for Mandzukic, with the Croatia striker shooting into the far corner, before Muller put the icing on the cake with eight minutes to play.

This time it was from the penalty spot, after Junior Diaz fouled Bastian Schweinsteiger, and Muller converted to cap off Bayern's excellent second half.

Borussia Dortmund 1-0 Hannover: Early Reus penalty sees BVB return to winning ways

    330072hp2.jpg

Borussia Dortmund returned to winning ways as an early Marco Reus penalty downed Hannover in Saturday's narrow 1-0 win.

The Germany international converted in just the fourth minute to seal the points, with Ron-Robert Zieler in the Hannover goal to thank for keeping the scores close for the remainder.

After slumping to their first Bundesliga loss of the season before the international break with a 2-0 defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach, Dortmund were looking to bounce back immediately at Signal Iduna Park and included Sokratis Papastathopoulos in place of the suspended Mats Hummels in the heart of defence.

Dortmund started at a frightening pace, and won a penalty within three minutes as neat interplay tore Hannover's defence open and full-back Erik Durm was felled by Hiroki Sakai.

Reus made no mistake with the spot kick, firing into the top corner for his fifth league goal of the season.

On 13 minutes, Hannover looked to hit back with their only clear chance of the first half but Artur Sobiech's left-footed strike was saved comfortably by Roman Weidenfeller in goal.

Dortmund continued to press relentlessly, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan at the heart of their good play. The Armenian set up chances for Reus and Kevin Grosskreutz, but they could not find a way past Zieler.

The goalkeeper was again called into action just past the half-hour, comfortably saving Reus' free-kick to his right to keep Hannover within reach at the break.

The away side came out for the second half with a renewed confidence and went close on 51 minutes through the dangerous Sobiech but the striker steered over the bar from a Szabolcs Huszti cross.

In an open start to the second half, Lewandowski forced Zieler into a smart stop on 55 minutes with a fierce left-footed drive as the hosts continued to be frustrated.

With the game still tight, Hannover almost spoiled the party for Dortmund and saw two attempts from Edgar Prib and Deniz Kadah both rebuffed by the hosts.

The game finished as lively as it had started with 90th-minute substitute Julian Schieber almost finding Lewandowski in the box in the dying moments but the game finished just in Dortmund's favour, Jurgen Klopp's side remaining a point behind table-toppers Bayern Munich.

Newcastle 2-2 Liverpool: Sturridge rescues a point for Rodgers

    330058hp2.jpg

Steven Gerrard's 100th Premier League goal and a Daniel Sturridge header secured Liverpool a 2-2 draw against Newcastle on Saturday.

Brendan Rodgers' side had to twice come from behind to earn a point at St James' Park on a day that saw Gerrard become the 24th player to reach the milestone of a century of goals in the Premier League.

Strikes from Yohan Cabaye and Paul Dummett had put Alan Pardew's side ahead, only for Gerrard and Sturridge to equalise.

Cabaye opened the scoring midway through the first half with a dipping strike from long range, but Gerrard brought Liverpool level from the spot after Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa had been dismissed for fouling Luis Suarez in the box.

Newcastle went back in front with Dummett's first goal for the club just before the hour, but Sturridge then equalised with 18 minutes remaining after excellent work from Suarez.

Both sides made two changes from their matches before the international break, with Glen Johnson and Aly Cissokho coming in for Raheem Sterling and Jose Enrique - who was ruled out with a knee injury - for Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Yanga-Mbiwa and Yoan Gouffran were named in the Newcastle side with Alan Pardew dropping Papiss Cisse to the bench. Captain Fabricio Coloccini was unavailable with a groin problem.

A tentative start from both teams saw a lack of goalmouth action in the opening 20 minutes, with Liverpool looking the most threatening on the counter.

But, after Rodgers' men had wasted two good opportunities from set-pieces, it was Newcastle who opened the scoring in sensational fashion through Cabaye.

The France international received a pass on the halfway line and moved towards goal before arrowing a 35-yard drive past Simon Mignolet into the bottom corner on 23 minutes.

However, Gerrard levelled for the visitors from the spot with five minutes of the half remaining after Suarez was felled by Yanga-Mbiwa.

The defender was given a straight red card for denying the Liverpool forward a clear goalscoring opportunity, and Gerrard punished Pardew's side further as he calmly converted from 12 yards.

Despite being a man short, Newcastle roared back into life in the second half and went back in front just before the hour through Dummett.

Cabaye fired a free-kick into the penalty area, Liverpool failed to clear and the substitute ghosted in at the back post to stroke past Mignolet from close range.

But Rodgers' side were back on level terms with 18 minutes to play when Sturridge nodded home a cross from Suarez.

Moses combined well with Suarez, and the Uruguayan clipped the ball into the six-yard box for Sturridge to notch his seventh Premier League goal of the campaign.

Liverpool had late chances through Jordan Henderson and Suarez but they were unable to find a way past an inspired Tim Krul and had to settle for a point.
