    Aashikland !!!
The liverpool game was a one sided game :dull: it was painful to watch! Actually he can be blamed.. He puts his ego in front. Playing everyone out of position like he wants revenge (Podi un wage) although yeah i agree with you on some points. He did win us a Europa League
I don't know who's decision was to offer smalling a new contract! he is trash just like Jones and the rest. Bailly wasn't used properly same can be said about Shaw!

I say get rid of pogba aswell and useless strikers like Lukaku. Just getting all those massive wages and doing nothing for the team.

This one was coming one way or another...

I think he became more and more stubborn after not getting the signings and quarrels with the management. And the media kept blasting him as well.

Personally I don't think pogba is worth that much. He's not consistent at all.

Orleans 1 Paris Saint-Germain 2: Super sub Diaby sends holders through

    7589162-0-image-a-1_1545168976983.jpg

Paris Saint-Germain scraped into the Coupe de la Ligue quarter-finals thanks to a late goal from Moussa Diaby that secured a laboured 2-1 victory over Orleans.
In their first domestic cup outing of the season, PSG, winners of the last five Coupe de la Ligue trophies, rarely got out of first gear on Tuesday, and were almost punished when Joseph Lopy hauled Ligue 2 side Orleans level in the 69th minute.

Edinson Cavani's moment of quality had separated the sides at the interval, with fine goalkeeping from Thomas Renault denying Cavani and Kylian Mbappe – making his final appearance as a teenager after replacing the injured Angel Di Maria – at bay after the restart.

But it was another teenager who would settle the contest, as Diaby breezed through weak Orleans defending to book PSG's place in the last eight.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting almost made the most of a rare start inside two minutes, but his strike was kept out by Renault.Cavani, however, showed no such profligacy four minutes before half-time, lofting home a superb first-time finish after latching onto Di Maria's dinked throughball.

PSG's goalscorer could have put the game to bed in the 48th minute, only for Renault's trailing leg to prevent Cavani's close-range effort doubling the visitors' advantage before Orleans' goalkeeper made an equally impressive stop to deny Mbappe.

And Orleans took full advantage of their keeper's good work – Lopy arrowing a strike into the bottom-right corner after Christopher Nkunku had squandered possession.Orleans' hopes of an upset were quashed with nine minutes remaining, though, as Diaby made the most of poor defending to settle the tie in PSG's favour.

Mbappe had Orleans' goal at his mercy in stoppage time but Gauthier Pinaud somehow pulled off an incredible block on the line to prevent the youngster adding further gloss after Renault had come up for a set-piece.

Fortuna Dusseldorf 2 Borussia Dortmund 1: Bundesliga leaders suffer shock first loss

    7588224-0-image-a-133_1545167966253.jpg

Borussia Dortmund's unbeaten Bundesliga start came to a grinding halt as Fortuna Dusseldorf livened up the title race with a 2-1 home win on Tuesday.Dodi Lukebakio's cool first-half finish and a Jean Zimmer thunderbolt condemned leaders Dortmund to their first defeat of the season in the penultimate round of matches before the winter break.

The surprise result gifts reigning German champions Bayern Munich the chance to pull within six points of Lucien Favre's side when they host RB Leipzig in a crunch clash at Allianz Arena on Wednesday.

Dusseldorf climbed off the bottom with a weekend win over Freiburg and their confidence soared in the 22nd minute as Lukebakio exposed Dortmund's high line and tucked away the opener.Takashi Usami squandered a good chance to double the margin before the break but made amends in the 56th minute, supplying the pass from which winger Zimmer sensationally picked out the top-left corner.

Favre introduced Jadon Sancho and Paco Alcacer off the bench on the hour and, though the latter halved the deficit by nodding in Lukasz Piszczek's cross nine minutes from the end, it proved merely a consolation for Dortmund.

Dortmund must now regroup ahead of Friday's important home meeting with second-placed Borussia Monchengladbach, who could close the gap to three points with victory.

He's very happy at Tottenham – Arsenal boss Emery wants Pochettino to reject Manchester United

Mauricio Pochettino should reject any approach from Manchester United in order to stay at Tottenham, according to Arsenal boss Unai Emery.

Jose Mourinho's two-and-a-half-year tenure at United came to an end on Tuesday, as he was sacked with the Red Devils sitting sixth in the Premier League, 19 points adrift of leaders Liverpool, with the club confirming they would hire an interim manager before appointing a permanent successor at the end of the season.

Pochettino has long been linked with the Old Trafford job, having overseen Tottenham's transformation to regular Champions League participants since his arrival from Southampton in 2014.

However, Emery – whose Arsenal side face Tottenham in an Carabao Cup north London derby on Wednesday – has urged his counterpart to stay put."I think he's very happy at Tottenham," Emery told a news conference.

"I think he's coaching a very big team with very big players and now they are in the Champions League they are also in a better position in the Premier League than Manchester United."I think his performance at Tottenham is very big.

"I don't know if he's thinking to change for another club, but I am looking at him with a very big commitment to Tottenham and he's creating a good performance, a good idea at Tottenham. Tottenham improved a lot with him."Their level now is very big. They have very good players, the coach is working very well, they are winning a lot of matches.

"When they are on the ball they are a very organised team, movement, they like a lot to be in possession, progress with the passes, with quality, are physically very hard and have attacking players with very big performances now."

Wednesday's encounter will be the second time the sides have met this season, with Arsenal coming out on top in the Premier League on December 2, winning 4-2 at Emirates Stadium.Arsenal have faltered somewhat since that result, however, and a 22-match unbeaten run came to an end with a 3-2 defeat at Southampton on Sunday.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have won their last three league games, as well as securing progression into the last 16 of the Champions League with a 1-1 draw at Barcelona, and Emery is expecting a response from Pochettino's side.

"We need to do a big match and I think it will more difficult than the first," Emery added."It's a very big test and also they are coming with a very big ambition against us because after the first derby they need to show us and their supporters a big performance.

"I think is a very good match for the supporters, very big match for the players and a very big match for us, the coaches, also."

:DMan Utd accidentally confirm Solskjaer hired as interim manager

Manchester United have accidentally confirmed the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the club's interim manager. After Jose Mourinho was sacked on Tuesday, the club's former striker was widely speculated to be United's choice to take over on a temporary basis. And, in a quickly-deleted post on the club's website, United confirmed the Norwegian's appointment as caretaker boss.

"Solskjaer becomes our interim manager, 20 years after clinching the Treble with THAT goal at Camp Nou," the caption read, referencing Solskjaer's famous winner in the 1999 Champions League final.
If that weren't enough evidence that Solskjaer was set to take over at Old Trafford, Norway's prime minister herself weighed in with a tweet that she also quickly deleted.
Solskjaer became a club legend during his career, scoring 128 goals in 367 appearances for the United during 10 seasons at Old Trafford.

After his playing career ended, Solskjaer took his first steps into coaching when he became United's striker coach, and later took charge of United's reserve side.
The former Norway international returned to his home country for his first managerial role in 2011, when he was named head coach at Molde.

Solskjaer won two titles at Molde before returning to the Premier League to take the helm of Cardiff City, a move that did not work out and saw him sacked in September 2014.Since 2015, Solskjaer has been back at the helm of Molde, and is now set to take his biggest step thus far in his managerial career.

The 45-year-old is expected to be named United's caretaker manager until the end of the current season, with the club currently sitting in sixth place and 11 points back of fourth-placed Chelsea for the final Champions League position.

Mourinho was let go on Tuesday after United fell 3-1 to Liverpool on Sunday at Anfield. The move ended two and a half years in charge for Mourinho, whose final season at the helm was blighted by poor results on the pitch and squabbles with his players and club hierarchy off it.

Zinedine Zidane, Diego Simeone and Mauricio Pochettino have all been mooted as potential long-term replacements for the Portuguese but for now, it appears to be Solskjaer's job for the short-term future.

:yes:Mourinho the best Manchester United manager since Ferguson - Gerrard

Steven Gerrard does not believe Jose Mourinho deserves some of the criticism being aimed at him following his Manchester United exit.United sacked Mourinho after two-and-a-half-years at Old Trafford on Tuesday, the club sitting sixth in the Premier League table, 19 points behind leaders Liverpool.

The Portuguese was criticised for his tactics at United , with some suggesting he had gone away from the style of play that was established under Sir Alex Ferguson.

His abrasive style with the media and ongoing problems with his players – Paul Pogba in particular – led to some calling for Mourinho to be dismissed, something the club put into action following Sunday's 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.

However, Gerrard thinks Mourinho should also be given a lot of credit for restoring some pride at Old Trafford after David Moyes and Louis van Gaal's tenures.

Speaking at a media conference, the Rangers boss said: "He's a winner isn't he, how can I sit here and say anything bad about Jose Mourinho?"He's a serial winner everywhere he has gone."He's been sacked at United but he's won them a couple of trophies. He's done the best job since Alex Ferguson left.

"It seems like they sort of struggled but Jose came in and put a couple of trophies in the cabinet, so I don't think you can criticise him too much."It will be interesting to see which direction they go with the new manager, but none of the Man Utd fans care what I say about it!"

Laurent Blanc and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are the frontrunners to take caretaker charge following Mourinho's exit, with Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane seen as more long-term options for the role permanently.

Neville urges Man Utd to appoint Pochettino as Mourinho replacement

Gary Neville believes that Mauricio Pochettino is the ideal replacement for Jose Mourinho as Manchester United manager.

After a tumultuous period at Old Trafford, the Portuguese boss was finally given the axe on Tuesday morning, sparking rumours as to who will be his successor.
United will look to appoint a caretaker manager until the end of the season, and then seek a permanent replacement in the summer.

Pochettino’s name has been mentioned several times in the past few months as Mourinho’s departure increasingly became an inevitability.

United legend Neville has been vocal in his disappointment at the 55-year-old’s tenure, and admitted that he believes Tottenham manager Pochettino is the perfect man to resurrect the Reds.Speaking to Sky Sports he said: “I’ve been fortunate to spend time at Tottenham’s training ground, and for me he [Pochettino] feels like the ideal candidate.

“Man United have tried managers who have won European cups, they’ve tried managers who have won multiple leagues.“My view is they need someone who meets the three key principles of the football club, and that is promotion of youth, entertaining football, and to win football matches.”

Pochettino will undoubtedly be touted as one of the main candidates for a full-time role in Manchester between now and the end of the season, but it is thought that United will look to appoint a coach with ties to the club in the meantime.

Former Paris Saint-Germain and France national team manager Laurent Blanc has emerged as an early favourite for the caretaker role, according to reports. The World Cup winner played for United under Sir Alex Ferguson between 2001 and 2003.

In the immediate short term, Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna will take training on Tuesday, but it is understood that the recently retired midfielder will not be in the running for the role.United currently sit sixth in the Premier League table, 11 points behind Chelsea in fourth.

Sunday’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield means that the Red Devils are 19 points behind their bitter Merseyside rivals, who are top of the league and unbeaten, after just 17 matches.

:)Manchester United appoint Solskjaer as manager until end of the season

    7GmsK6f.jpg

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been appointed as Manchester United's interim manager for the rest of the season.

The former Red Devils striker, who played at Old Trafford for over a decade between 1996 and 2007, takes over on a temporary basis in the wake of Jose Mourinho's exit on Tuesday.A United statement read: “Manchester United announced today that former striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been appointed as caretaker manager until the end of the 2018-19 season.

“Solskjaer will take charge of the first team with immediate effect and will remain in place while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new full-time manager.”

He arrives from Norwegian side Molde, having returned to the club for a second stint back in 2015. Mike Phelan has also returned to United in the role of first-team coach and will work alongside the club’s former midfielder Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna.

Solskjaer, whose appointment had been accidentally revealed late on Tuesday, told United's official website : “Manchester United is in my heart and it’s brilliant to be coming back in this role. I’m really looking forward to working with the very talented squad we have, the staff and everyone at the club."

United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward added: “Ole is a club legend with huge experience, both on the pitch and in coaching roles. His history at Manchester United means he lives and breathes the culture here and everyone at the club is delighted to have him and Mike Phelan back. We are confident they will unite the players and the fans as we head into the second half of the season.”

A forward perhaps best known as a "super sub" for United, Solskjaer famously came off the bench against Bayern Munich in the 1999 Champions League final to score an injury-time winner and hand Sir Alex Ferguson's side their first European honour for over 30 years.

He also picked up six Premier League titles and two FA Cups, among other honours, during his time as a player at the club.At international level, he won 67 caps for Norway and was a member of their 1998 World Cup and 2000 European Championship squads, reaching the last 16 in the former.Following his retirement, Solskjaer transitioned from the United playing squad to the managerial set-up, where he took charge of the reserves at Carrington under Ferguson between 2008 and 2011.

He left the club to take the reins at Molde, where he had played before switching to United, and won the Tippeligaen league title in his first season in charge, in 2011.He was coaxed back to the United Kingdom in early 2014 to replace Malky Mackay as manager of relegation-threatened Cardiff City but was unable to prevent the club from making the drop back into the Championship.

A subsequent dismissal followed after a run of poor results to open the 2014-15 campaign and Solskjaer was reappointed Molde boss the following October on a three-and-a-half year deal.

Chelsea 1 Bournemouth 0: Substitute Hazard books semi-final spot

    7634412-6513323-image-m-58_1545256384197.jpg

Chelsea scraped into the EFL Cup semi-finals as Eden Hazard's late goal secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bournemouth on Wednesday.

Having laboured in their 3-2 win over Derby County in the previous round, Chelsea found Bournemouth in resolute form at Stamford Bridge before substitute Hazard's 84th-minute winner.Visiting goalkeeper Artur Boruc was in fine form throughout and Chelsea's luck looked to be out when Ruben Loftus-Cheek struck the woodwork early in the second half.

However, Hazard – who is now on 99 goals for the club in all competitions – took matters into his own hands, his strike from a tight angle taking a deflection off Charlie Daniels to find the net and book the home side a place in the last four.
Linked with a January switch to Stamford Bridge, Callum Wilson could have caught his reported suitors cold in the 16th minute but he fired wide at the culmination of a slick Bournemouth counter.

Eddie Howe's side had Boruc to thank when he denied both Olivier Giroud and then Willian, while Kepa Arrizabalaga had to be alert to tip Lys Mousset's effort wide.Boruc was beaten by Loftus-Cheek's low strike after the interval, but the upright came to Bournemouth's rescue before Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri turned to Hazard for inspiration.

The change paid off just as the prospect of penalties loomed over proceedings, Hazard exchanging passes with Pedro and Emerson Palmieri before drilling at goal, with Daniels' intervention only diverting the ball beyond his own keeper.

Hazard could have capped a brilliant cameo with two assists late on, yet Boruc twice made brilliant saves to prevent Emerson and also Giroud adding further gloss to the final scoreline.

Arsenal 0 Tottenham 2: Exquisite Alli chip gains vengeance for Spurs

    7633028-6513177-image-a-97_1545254251966.jpg

Dele Alli scored a brilliant chip as Tottenham gained vengeance for their Premier League defeat at Arsenal earlier this month by claiming a 2-0 EFL Cup quarter-final win at Emirates Stadium.

Mauricio Pochettino's team went down 4-2 when the sides met in a fiery north London derby on December 2, but Alli's impudent finish in the 59th minute added to Son Heung-min's opener to send Spurs into the final four for the first time since 2014-15.

A banana was thrown on the pitch after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a penalty in the teams' previous encounter and on Wednesday Alli was hit by a bottle thrown from the stands, responding with a '2-0' gesture to the fans.

Unai Emery - who left Mesut Ozil out entirely for "tactical reasons" - may step up his interest in defensive reinforcements after his makeshift backline was twice punished by clinical Tottenham counter-attacks in their second straight defeat.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan was unable to beat Paulo Gazzaniga from 12 yards when one on one and Son punished him in the 20th minute, curling past Petr Cech after Granit Xhaka – deployed at centre-back – played him onside.Moussa Sissoko contrived to blaze over at the end of a rapid Tottenham break that followed Lucas Moura's tackle on Mkhitaryan, but Gazzaniga kept the visitors ahead by tipping Aaron Ramsey's shot against the upright two minutes before the break on the Welshman's 350th Arsenal appearance.

Emery switched to a back three with the introduction of Laurent Koscielny at half-time but the defender – still working his way back to full fitness after an Achilles rupture in May – was caught out and Alli poked a delightful finish past a stunned Cech.

Alexandre Lacazette hit the post soon after replacing Alex Iwobi, while Aubameyang saw a cross from the left hit the bar after Alli appeared to be struck by a bottle thrown from the crowd.Arsenal were unable to find a way back into the game, with Gazzaniga not having to make another save before the final whistle.
