do NOT use IIS with MS FTP. its too weak and can be easily hacked.
To run your own FTP server, use Filezilla FTP server. Get it from http://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=server
Also in your router, forward TCP ports 20 & 21 to your PC so that connections from outside can connect to your FTP server.

i can see you know wot you are talking, you are on point ;) nice one

Check your router's port forwarding options. It should be there.

or you can enable DMZ mode so all the incoming will be forwarded to the pc which you are runing ftp server / web server. no need to select port manualy

Put a widows desktop machine on DMZ ? that's asking for trouble.

if the router is lock, press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds (find it outside the router), will clear the password

if you are not sure wot u are doing, i recon you to LEAVE IT ALONE

    ah, in that case,no problem.
But what the heck do you need 30 routers for ??
Also give more details about the network. Is there a server in the network ? is it running DHCP ? Is the router the common gateway ? or is it the server ?
