Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has a day one patch, but it’s very small

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has one of the smallest day one patches we’ve seen.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate does have a day one patch. Fear not though, because it’s one of the smallest yet for a AAA new-gen game.

On PlayStation 4, the patch clocks in 534 MB, according to a NeoGAF user, bringing the full game size to around 43 GB for that version. As for the Xbox One version, Reddit users have reported that it’s of a similar size, at 520 MB. The total game size for the Xbox One version will be 40 GB after applying the patch.

We’ve been playing Syndicate for a few days and will share our impressions later this week.Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is out October 23 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PC version will follow four weeks later.

Hideo Kojima left Konami this month

    iU5XdZd.jpg

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima can start work outside Konjami as early as December, apparently.

Kojima formally left Konami on October 9, according to an anonymous source.

Speaking to the New Yorker, this whisperer said Kojima is prevented from working on new games by a non-compete exit clause, which expires in December.

Konami and Kojima have not commented on the news, which means we can’t take it as gospel yet. But Kojima did apparently confirm his departure, as he cited “legally binding agreement with his former employer” when turning down the opportunity to speak out.The New Yorker points to shifts in the Japanese gaming industry for Kojima’s departure; mobile has overtaken the traditional triple-A industry.

If Kojima wants to keep making big-budget games I’m pretty sure there are a dozen companies who’d be keen to bring him on board. Let’s cross our fingers we haven’t seen the end of the man who brought us Solid Snake and Big Boss.

:rolleyes:Konami says Hideo Kojima is on vacation, didn’t leave

Konami has denied yesterday’s report that designer Hideo Kojima has left the publisher.

A very recent report said that Metal Gear Solid series creator Hideo Kojima left publisher Konami October 9. In the report, it was revealed that after the non-compete agreement expires in December, Kojima will be free to work on new projects with other publishers.

Today, in a statement issued to Tokyo Sports, Konami denied the report, saying Kojima is still listed as an employee.“Currently, Kojima and the development team are finished developing Metal Gear Solid V and are taking a long time off from work,” reads the statement – as translated by Kotaku.

Yesterday’s report claimed Kojima Productions held a farewell party at Konami, something the statement also denied. Simon Parkin, the author of the piece, took to Twitter to show off a picture from the event.

“Because the development time for console games is so long and fatigue builds up, it’s common for employees to take extended periods of time off when development is finished,” continued the statement.
