difficulty lvl is just the story mode but honestly it wasnt so hard for me cz i had so many hard fights earlier on. even in main story and in this expansion, i faced so many fights harder than this one. i usually jump and roll sideways and get behind the target and hit a strong attack to do the maximum crit damage while spamming my quen and axii signs a lot and if it isnt enough i use oils or suitable decoctions. thats how i win hard fights most of the time but in this fight i didnt use any of those but killed him easily, i am pretty sure my op armor and my viper steel sword did the trick. i even told wolf aiya to get this gear set before gonna play blood and wine cz b&w is kinda harder than hos. anyway gl with ur ng +

And no the viper set isn't actually overpowered. I was using the mastercrafted ursine & wolven Armours and they are both level 37 or 38 and very close to the viper set in stats.
The viper set is only a bit higher than those two. Not much difference.

I dodged almost all of the last wraiths attacks like him and in death march if you get hit by his aggressive red sword combo as you can see it'll take about 75,80% of your health. And if he follows up with another two or three red sword combos, it's very hard to time the dodges (specially if he delays them) and it'll insta kill you.

I maxed upto my toxicity b drinking three or four decoctions and some other potions as well. As I remember the katakan decoction worked well for him cause it'll break his combo.

This is my favourite fight in the game. At least it's the case on death march level. No rest and hardly any mistakes to win it.
Not many other fights does that in the game.

And the original von everec fight is also said to be quite good but I didn't encounter that. Only one dialog option will give you that fight.

And no the viper set isn't actually overpowered. I was using the mastercrafted ursine & wolven Armours and they are both level 37 or 38 and very close to the viper set in stats.
The viper set is only a bit higher than those two. Not much difference.

no idea about the death match lvl (gotta be freaking hard ), i just want to go through the story, and btw viper set is lvl 39 and it gives u not only the armor but also it gives u a lot of other defensive and offensive bonuses, like 100% poison resist, 50 % Piercing Resist, 50% slashing resist and 55 % elemental resist 55% reduced damage from monsters and a lot of sign intensity boosts and a lot more. thats y viper set is called as OP it isnt the best gear set in this game, there are more new sets available in b&w also but viper set is enough to take down any one and any mossion. besides it gives a very decent look also. so shiny

I don't think you can upgrade the venomous gear set. At least you can't in the base game & hearts of stone in the first playthrough. Do not know what'll happen in NG+ or Blood & Wine.

But found all anyhow and upgraded to the maximum.

This is what I love about RPGs than other types of games.
Decision making, upgrading, different scenarios, the lore... those things make a game much enjoyable to play.

And there is one certain blacksmith & one certain armourer to make mastercrafted armour & weapons.
To unlock both of them you have to do their missions.
One is in Velen & the Other in Novigrad. I won't tell much if you haven't done those missions.
