New Battlefield V details: No loot boxes or Premium Pass, enhanced movement system, bullet penetration & more

The official Twitter account for Battlefield V has revealed some new details about Battlefield V. According to the developers, this latest Battlefield game won’t feature loot boxes or a Premium Pass, meaning that all players will have access to the same maps and modes.

In Battlefield 5, players will spawn with fewer grenades, however they can do more with ’em. Players will be able to shoot them in mid-air or toss back enemy grenades that land near their squad. Moreover, the game will allow high-powered weaponry to blast right through walls, however, small caliber weapons like pistols won’t.

The developers have also confirmed that the movement system will be getting a pretty big upgrade as players will be able to jump through windows, sprint while crouching, shoot while backpedaling, and do a whole lot more.

Battlefield V is currently scheduled for an October release!

Nioh has sold two million copies worldwide across all platforms

Team Ninja has announced that Nioh has sold two million copies worldwide on Playstation 4 and PC. Nioh was released in February 2017 on PS4 and came out on the PC after almost nine months, in November 2017.

Initially, the PC version of Nioh suffered from numerous issues. The game did not support the mouse, did not support key bindings for keyboards, and there were some low-resolution textures in some cut-scenes that were not present in the console version.

Thankfully, and contrary to other developers, Team Ninja has addressed/fixed these issues via various post-release patches. In its current state, Nioh plays wonderfully on the PC and has mostly positive reviews on Steam. It’s not perfect – as the game does not display proper m+k indicators – but it’s definitely enjoyable.

DICE and Electronic Arts have revealed the official minimum PC requirements for Battlefield V (via its Origin store page). According to the developers, PC gamers will need at least an Intel Core i5 6600K or an AMD FX-6350 with 8GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon HD 7850 or an nVidia GeForce GTX 660.

As we’ve already stated, DICE has partnered with NVIDIA for Battlefield 5. NVIDIA’s engineers are working with the Battlefield V developers to bring the best aspects of the GeForce gaming platform to bear for PC gamers. As such, GeForce Experience will deliver Game Ready drivers, Optimal Playable settings, and other NVIDIA-platform features for Battlefield V.

Battlefield 5 is currently scheduled for an October release!

World War 3 is coming to Steam in Fall 2018

Last week, we informed you about World War 3; a new multiplayer FPS from the creators of Get Even and Painkiller: Hell & Damnation. And today, The Farm 51 has revealed its first official details, alongside its first screenshots.

World War 3 is described as a multiplayer military FPS set in a modern, global conflict. The game will feature strong teamplay, national armed forces, real locations, full body awareness and a versatile customization system, as well as a robust ballistic system, advanced armors and life-like weapons.

According to its official website, World War 3 presents a modern conflict with tactics, techniques and procedures inspired by true combat engagements, all of this packed into two exciting game modes. Warzone offers opportunities for dynamic, intense firefights in teamwork-focused battles of infantry and armored units over fortified points. The tactically-oriented Recon allows players to cooperate within small reconnaissance squads left on their own to survive and capture high-value targets in hostile territory. Together these modes aim to create a coherent gameplay experience aimed at presenting the actual feel of modern warfare.

World War 3 is heavily grounded in military realism, offering accurate depictions of weapons, uniforms and equipment of national armed forces. All of it to inspire you to make the war effort personal and prove that your country is the dominant force on the battlefield. All maps are based on real-life locations such as the streets of Warsaw, Berlin and Moscow (more locations planned) recreated with an unprecedented attention to detail.

To show consequences of every battle, player performance is rewarded with resources used to conquer or defend a territory. Players will gain additional bonuses via the metagame and turn the tide of war. Every destroyed vehicle, every kill, every bullet fired, every achievement affects the big picture presented on a constantly evolving, interactive war map eventually covering the entire planet.

The game will be coming to Steam in Fall 2018.
