502 error continues to plague Gmail users​

For at least the third time in 11 days, Google's Gmail users have encountered 502 errors while trying to access their emails. The first reported Gmail downtime this month was on May 2, followed by another on May 8.
Trying to access Gmail, a message on the page said, "502. That's an error. The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request. Please try again in 30 seconds. That's all we know."
502 errors usually happen due to poor IP communication between servers. There have been a number of previous occasions when Google users have encountered a similar error.

What is Gmail 502 Error and How to Fix it​

Gmail Error 502 hits back with frequent connection failures this week (May 2013). Many users from India, Pakistan and China were shown exit doors as “The Google” failed to load the Gmail servers.

This is the 6th time I personally encountered Error 502 message in the last 2 weeks. We tried to reach out to Google but they were not available for further comments. As we dig the Gmail support forums, we found that that this temporary disruption has been on the roll since last few month.

Gmail 502 Error – What is it?

So what actually happens which results in a 502 problem? Well, there can be many reasons for this error. Some of the common scenarios are -

The server receives an invalid request
The server sends an Invalid respose
The server is encountering high load usage
Multiple requests from the same browser can also sometimes trigger this problem. (Not Sure about this)


Fix 502 Error for Gmail

You can do nothing to fix this error from your part. Except if you are using multiple ISP (Internet Service Provider) services, you can try switching them to check which one works. To stay on the safe side you can also try deleting your cookies and start a new session requesting a fresh Gmail connection.

Although the errors are automatically fixed within a few minutes but it sure proves that something is going behind the servers which we are not aware of. Let us hope this problem gets fixed soon.
