I see many posts about SAITHM and given almost all are negative i thought to say something. Constructive posts are welcome but not ideologically haters .

SL is democracy and has been for very long time but our education system has failed us so lots of us left the country or left stranded. Our tertiary education is funded by the tax payers basically Gov tax us and we educate people thinking they will serve the country.

SL education system has lagged behind ( i meant very badly) compared even countries like Bangladesh and Vietnam which is still a communist but adopted capitalism except Gov related functions.
Our Universities are well below world standard and perhaps can only match with African universities.

Dr Nevil is a Sri Lankan and wanted to reverse this trend and built his own University and I agree that fact that start did not get in to good footing. Should not have gone under BOI and i believe due to tax breaks to get some concessions.
As a nation what we should is to support him and GOMA should be at the forefront assisting him but its tragically is the opposite.

    Reasons are below,

GOMA: Is union mainly believe and fed by Marxist ideology and are scared to competition loosing their dominant role in the country..

IUSF: Shantha Bandara - Founding leader and the first convener of IUSF. Drop-out of University of Peradeniya and a prominent leader of JVP. Involved in the unsuccessful JVP insurrection during 1987-1989. Killed in January 1990. IUSF is led by drop-outs who depend on tax payer for years.

IUSF is also criticized for not being able to take necessary action to prevent ragging in Sri Lankan universities. Instead, rival groups such as International Students for Social Equality have suggested that IUSF uses ragging as a means of attracting a following among more backward students.[18] At the beginning, ragging served as a social equalizer in the universities. But with the emergence of JVP-backed student unions such as IUSF, ragging has served primarily to ensure the continuing domination of JVP political power within the universities, academics suggest.
This is now led by frontline socialist party sri lanka

I have now put together a simple to understand report and its up to readers to decide what they should support.

I am neither sponsored by SAITHM nor a SL Citizen and only wants SL to succeed which we have not been able to do for many years..... Before I leave this world I hope my nation would find its glorious past again

SAITM has to comply and maintain the industry standards given by GOMA as the trade union. Here what happen is,Dr Nevil himself denying and arguing the industry standard without complying with the criteria given the "the" trade union and the regulatory entity starting from the process of intake till general test. In similar case what would be the possible action can be taken by GOMA.

I admit that the education has been lagged for some decades (and as you said not too bad), but I don't think it would be help to make it better by grating SAITM to give MBBS as long as it's not complying. Either it has to maintain the level of standard or should close down.

For IUSF, its not about standards its all about word "private"
Thats why their main campaign is #NOPMC

What the heck? How can a trade union dictate the education policy of a country?

danne nathi ahanne, oya karana strike eka private hospital wala karanne nane

GOVERNMENT MEDICAL OFFICERS ASSOCIATION is not responsible for the doctors who are working in private sector. Anith eka pvt sector eke wada karanne contract ekata. Some doctors are working full time in private hospitals after resigning from government sector. It's not possible to pull out a strike there for that reason. But anyway dengue patients and all the emergency cases are handled with 💯% care in government sector. Don't trust the media. Go to your nearest hospital and see for yourself.

    Are you for real?
What you are saying is to nationalise it..
Meaning tax payers have to feed and educate more moron like iusf idiots
And SL will again be a failed state where rest of the Asia forge ahead ... With some forward looking policies SL even behind counties like Euthiopia and Kenya
Our so called Universities are well below 1000 in world ranking due to lack of competition
Furthermore elsewhere doctors protest to get funds for research and in SL GOMA go on strike to get Car permits again paid by the tax payers... SL is now almost Banana Republic with people like you:angry:
