Google PDF Viewer Deprecation Announcement
Hi Folks,
We are consolidating the PDF viewing capability previously provided in the standalone PDF Viewer application into the Files By Google app. With this change, we will deprecate the standalone PDF Viewer application and remove it from the Play Store. The Google PDF Viewer will not be available on Play store starting from February 9th.
Customers who make use of other apps for this functionality, such as Google Drive or apps provided by other companies, will not be affected by this change.
Files By Google provides a simplistic approach to file management for mobile devices. With Files By Google, you’re able to free up storage space, locate files faster, and back up files to the cloud (when a Google Account is permitted in the managed device or work profile).
Files By Google supports the same media file types as Android, which includes the formats below. Files By Google also supports a number of other document formats. Below is a sample of supported formats.
