Start a new game and skip the very first video (by pressing Space) .Then when the game starts the problem (Drunk mode) should be solved. This is kind of a famous remedy that I got to know from the shop I got the game. Unless you have already messed it up with all types of patches and cracks,this should solve the problem.

P.S: I would recommend you have a better VGA too. 8500 is a crappy one
