Well, you are wrong there too......

kB = kilobyte (1000 bytes)
KiB = kibibyte (1024 bytes)

(note the case of "k". simple k for kilobyte, capital K for kibibyte)

Similar relationship can be found in,
MB, MiB (mebibyte) (both Ms are capital)
GB, GiB (gibibyte)
......

But usually you rarely use Kib, I mean kilo binary byte term.. Generally speaking all use Bits and Bytes, and yes, actually I was talking about Kilo binaries. But for what

Kilobyte (KB) = 1024 bytes
kilobyte (kB) = 1000 bytes

Kilobit (Kb) = 1024 bits
kilobit (kb) = 1000 bits

KBps = Kilobytes per second (1024 bytes)
kBps = kilobytes per second (1000 bytes)

Kbps = Kilobits per second (1024 bits)
kbps = kilobits per second (1000 bits)

bps = bits per second

8 bits = 1 Byte

So 1KB = 8kb means 1 kilo byte = 8 kilobits

This is very funny way to connect adsl to ur PC. i thought u have eithernet hub to share your adsl with 2-3 PCs. wot is the point of having a router when u can connect directly from modem to PC with USB cable. think all these problems you have becouse of the drivers u installed on your pc.

So if your PC is turned off you have no internet to run device like IP CAM,PDA, Xbox.. etc ??

Is this the way SLT gives internet? No broadband network sharing?

Please be kind enough to tell us which routers are competible with SLT ADSL? Wot about Belking, D-Link, Speed touch,Netgear, Linksys?????

I looked on the SLT website but they dont mention anything about that

Anika USB eken meyka connect karaata awulak naa.. Meyka aththatama awilla Modem ekak.. (Ive told abt da modem specs + Model in a previous post of mine , Well Its USRobotics 9112) Eke USB connection ekata amatharawa Ethernet connection ekak additional thiyenawa.. So meykata kiyanne Modem plus Router kiyala.. Anyway ehema connect karaata awulak naa.. plus ehema thamayi kalinuth mage connection eka thibune

Drivers is not the problem.. Installed the drivers which comes with the pack.. The one I was already using before

And my Modem is compatible with even ADSL 2+ 24MBps connection.. Any new-age modem will fit with SLT ADSL 512KBps Connection (Home/Entree Package) .. Thatz not a compatibility issue.. And also, I had the same configurations before

All those brands should be compatible with SLT ADSL. Basically you need PPP over Ethernet with LLC encapsulation method in a router, to connect to SLT ADSL.

Gomida using USB to connect the modem (router) to the PC is his choice alone. SLT doesn't "ask" anyone to setup it like that.

Connection speed eka aten beduwama thamayi bandwidth eka enne

So 115.2KBps/8 = 14.4KBps
Oya CDMA phones wala hati thamayi

You should always try to stick to the standards. Why would there be standards if they are not to be used. Standards are there to prevent ambiguities...
