if you have genuine windows you can use this. I tried once but i didn't like it. It caused some performance issues to me and was quite buggy.

who said kaspersky is the most popular bro? It maybe in sir lanka but the most popular is Norton (and i hate it because it's a performance hog). Avira has only antivirus capabilities whereas Avast has some added features.

Yes in a way this is true. paid versions have added features that improve security. but i feel most of the time free ones are good enough if you're careful.

I used it several times and it always causes me trouble. it slows down the computer and even the network. never liked it properly.

Oh hell no. the worst antivirus ever. There were comparison of free AV's and AVG missed so many viruses. And i have personal experience with my friends who used AVG and they get infected very frequently.
