Help on overclocking please?????

I have a gigabyte GA-8I945GME motherboard and a 3.2ghz HT Processor and i want to overclock it, but unfortunately this motherboard doesn't support overclocking...

Can u do something else to overclock it to 3.6ghz.............



My specs:

3.2ghz HT, Geforce 6200Gt 256, 945g chipset, 1gb ram, windows xp sp3....

it's possible

try changing bios (like BURN-IN mode).
change the freaquencies, voltages carefully

or you can concentrate on your other devices to overclock like if you hv a good nVidia graphics card, download the overclocking utility and overclock it

nothing is impossible dude

First make sure your BIOS doesn't support Overclocking features, look for those like " Frequency control", "Voltages",blah blah
If that is the case tryout the EasyTune software you get with your Motherboard installation disk. I had a Gigabyte mobo which doesnt support any Overclocking features from BIOS, but it supported Overcloking using EasyTune..

Even that fails unfortunately you have to try ClockGen HERE
and make sure you have selected the correct PLL from the list box ( google for the PLL of ur mobo )
Refer to the link I've given above. Do it at your own risk. Try with small increments.. Happy Overclocking!

It doesn't look like the mobo isn't supported overclocking from BIOS.

The next option is to use software based overclocking. If you are OK with it (I do not like software based overclocking), you can try the software called setfsb (google it, please), but you have to find the exact Phase Locked Loop (PLL) used in your motherboard, which unfortunately I am not willing to help you with. You will get an idea as to what sort of thing (model number) you should be searching for after loading setfsb. Don't set a wrong PLL. It might crash the PC, or in the worse case, could damage the motherboard.

Note: You may try EasyTune, but if the BIOS isn't supporting overclocking, i don't think it will be supported as well. But you can give it a shot, as then you don't need to fiddle with the PLL.

Edit: As Gayan mentioned, Clockgen would work too. It and setfsb are pretty similar. (Just saw his post :D)

I Even tried Easy Tune and Clockgen but it doesn't work....
In clockgen my PLL is not listed........

Anyway thanks.......

Maybe then overclocking is not for you.

you might have overclocking option on ur bios advance settings.try pressing ctrl+f1 when you are in ur bios and you might get some new options
